Hi Michelle

I guess so. Fedra should be quieter than some of the other apartments, though don't quote me!!! I don't know that you will be mozzie-free by any means, though this year they were more prevalent earlier and later in the season; July and August were relatively mozzie-light. (I'm sure someone will disagree with that!) Use a plug-in with pellets for the room; they are the most effective. Outside just daub yourself with as much Autan as you can lay your hands on.

I think the block you get allocated depends on which company you book through. We had a smashing holiday there the first time but the second was rubbish, we asked for a move to another block but were told it was full. Its a very busy complex and gets a lot of mixed reviews on here.

We have stayed there twice with our grandchildren, both times in may We have not been bothered by mozzies, perhaps they appear later in the year. We stay in siesta 1 or 2, not by choice that is where we were put. Had a good time very family orientated wuth kids clubs, mini golf etc. Would recommend the Don Pedro bar, reasonably priced food quiz most nights, the staff are great and seem to genuinely like kids. :D :D :D

WE VISITED ALCUDIA 4 YEARS AGO NOW AND STAYED AT THE HOTEL DELFIN AZUL,AND LOVED IT WE NOW HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND HAVE BOOKED A LATE DEAL TO THE BELLEVUE APARTMENTS, GETTING THE HOLIDAY FOR £1200 LESS THAN THOMAS COOK ARE SELLING IT FOR VIA LOW COST BEDS.

IVE READ THE REVIEWS FOR THE BELLEVUE ON HERE AND THEY SEEM SOME WHAT VARIED, WHAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW IS, HAS ANYONE BEEN THERE WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS OR SO, OR IF ANYONES IS DUE TO GO SOON THEN PLEASE POST ON HERE WITH THERE THOUGHTS ON WHAT THE CURRENT STATE OF ITS LIKE, IM SLIGHTLY WORRIED I HAVE TO SAY.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE COTS ARE FREE OR IS THERE A CHARGE?

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ABOUT THE FEES FOR THE SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX?

ANY FREQUENT USERS OF THE COMPLEX WHO COULD GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHICH BLOCK OF APARTMENTS WE SHOULD ASK TO BE ALLOCATED TO AND WHICH ONES IF ANY WE SHOULD AVOID??

FROM WHAT I CAN UNDERSTAND SOME AREAS OF THE COMPLEX HAVE BEEN REFURBISHED AND SOME HAVE YET TO BE DONE.

WE HAVE ASKED FOR A POOL VIEW ,LOW FLOOR, QUIET ROOM ETC AS 2 OF OUR 4 CHILDREN ARE UNDER 2, IM PRAYING THAT WE DONT GET PUT IN A ROOM OVERLOOKING THE MAIN STRIP.

ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION OR HELP TO PUT MY MIND AT EASE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED,

ANYONE GOING ON OR AROUND THE 14 TH MAY? WE MAY SEE YOU OUT THERE.

AH LASTLY ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE THIS TIME OF YEAR ANY IDEAS IF THE SUNBED SITUATION IS REALLY BAD AND THE MOSSYS??

MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE

We were in Alucdia last week and the BELLEVUE APTS were still closed for the winter.
Not sure when they will open.
There were a few work men around.
It was very quiet there in fact the whole of Majorca was quiet with a lot of places still closed.
We stayed in Cala Bona.
Never had a problem with Mozzies it's really not that warm there.
To cold for the outside pools , we had an indoor pool at our hotel.
With heating that was needed at night.
The day time was warm and if you got out of the wind was very nice and warm.We did get a tan on our faces.
I'm sure it will all be in full swing by May and the weather will be much warmer for the children.

It's a short walk to the lovely beach across a very busy main road.
It's very big with lots to do there.
It's more like a self contained village.
I have no other info , only that my daughter went there a few years ago in July and had a great time.

Steve and Claire.

Bellevue, or parts of it, open at the start of April. Every winter there is some form of refurb going on - a place that big needs it.

If you get allocated Fedra apts - for example - you will be away from the main strip, and so long as you have an in-looking apartment you'll get a pool view and be away from the bypass that runs at the back of the complex. Really, any block that is looking in should be reasonably quiet, though that depends on who else is there.

Mosquitoes in May should not be a major problem, but you should still be prepared for them. Last year the mossies were more active earlier and later in the summer.

Sorry, can't help you with the rest, but hope this helps.

Hi 8)

We stayed at the Bellevue about 3 years ago. I know that you wanted more up to date reviews, but your post reflects how we were feeling after reading reviews back then.
Which block you get allocated to depends on which tour operator your travelling with. Low cost beds may be able to tell you where they put their customers.
We travelled with Airtours and were allocated in Fedra block, which is high rise at the back of the complex. Each block has its own pool. The whole complex is massive!! There is lots of space between blocks, with bars, restaurants and supermarkets. All areas are landscape gardens, but well lit at night with maintained walkways. The busiest area is at the front of the complex where th majority of the entertainment goes on ie the Show Garden, so you could easily end up with a noisy block as a quiet one.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment, which we found to be spacious and was cleaned to a high standard. We didn't have a cot so I can't advise there, but you could email the Bellevue to ask about prices and avilability, I know they definately have them available.

As for mosquitoes, we also travelled in May but din't find them to be a problem.

I hope that at least some of this information helps 8)

thankyou for your information, really a holiday is what you make it, on the other hand when you are going with young children as we are spending your hard earned cash on a holiday then you want a good time too,

would you return to the place?? and did you have any problems getting sunbeds??

i think if we are put in a decent room then we will be fine it seems that this place gets the bad reviews from people who have been allocated rooms which have not been refurbished in a while.

anyone with any ideas as to how accesible the place is, we are trying to decide whether we will be ok getting around the place in and out of the restaurant and down to the beach with our double buggy, its a side by side maclaren one its not massive but we are not sure whether we should take two singles instead, the double would be better for us so that we have one person spare i.e my wife to hold the other two childrens hands, but am wondering if the double will prove to big to get in and out of places easily.

Hi 8)

yes I would go back again, we had a great time!!! In May you shouldn't really struggle for a sunbed, but we didn't use the Fedra pool which was always busy. The smaller blocks seemed to be much quieter about the pool area. We didn't ever go without a sunbed. In the Fedra block, I think you would struggle with a double buggy, it would be a tight fit!! But the rest of the complex is ok, you should be ok with the main restaurant which is open plan, some of the cafes/bars may be tight, but the owners are accomodating and would move tables. The road to the beach is pathed both sides all the way to the beach, and will be ok with a bouble buggy.
Reply
when you said i would struggle with the double buggy do you mean inside the accomodation blocks??
but the outside areas we would hopefully be ok?

thanks

Hi 8)

sorry, yes you would only struggle in the lifts inside the blocks, and in some of the smaller bars on the complex, but everywhere else would be ok with a double buggy
Reply
thanks for that, something we need to bear in mind, we have asked for a low floor but that doesnt mean we will get one, and it would be a real pain if we need to use the lifts to get to our room and cant get the pushchair in, i think once the complex opens in april i best email them or ring them and ask about their lift sizes, our double fits through most single doorways but it is larger than your standard pushchair, so best to find out in advance.

many thanks

My daughter as 2 year old twins and as only ever taken her double buggy on holiday once, never again.
With the uneven paths and steps it was a nightmare.
The beach was a complete no no. Far to heavy.
She now as 2 light weight travel buggies for about £15 each. So much easier.
We also use them when we go shopping here if there are 2 or more adults .
It makes life so much better and stops them from fighting and making each other cry and sream.
Kids , who'd av 'em.

hi

No we have never stayed at the Belleveu. Only visited.
Our daughter stayed there years ago before she had the children.

But the double buggy is a problem where ever we go. Home and away.
My daughters twin buggy is a maclaren to.
It's not the pushchair thats heavy it's the twins.
She doesn't use it much any more only in bad weather when she can cover them both with the rain cover.
It's to heavy with two 2 year olds, shopping & school bags etc.
I find it is very hard to push.
She as got a buggy board that they take in turns standing on up and down to school to take their older brother. Which fits onto the back of a single pushchair.
She can't even get the double buggy through the school gate.
Shop doorways are terrible.
Narrow paths .
High gutters.
Some shops are out even if you can get through the door.
There just isn't enough room to get round.
Markets. no way to many people.
Lifts some are just to small.
And hills. OMG
I often wonder how people in wheelchairs cope.

I never realized how bad it was until my daughter had the twins.
They are good walkers so with the buggy board and the two light weight pushchairs to share the weight between two people it is getting much easier.

We have just got back from Cala Bona and you couldn't have got the double buggy into the lift or through the room door in the hotel.
No way would we take a double buggy with us on holiday again unless we really had to.

But you have to do what suits you and your children.
