We stayed in the San Lorenzo Village last year in Lassi, they are apartments, but they are superb, take a look at the reviews. The beaches in Lassi are lovely, and you are only a few minutes from Argostoli as well.

Take a look at the white rocks hotel and also the mediterannae hotels, both also in Lassi. Good hotels and right next to the lovely sandy beaches of Lassi.
As Ian says, Lassi is also very close to the capital Argostoli and is very central for touring the island

The White Rocks gets my vote, great location for the beach but quite a walk into Argostoli.

Hello Karen, Kefalonia is my favourite Greek Island and I have visited it many many times like lots of other people I know, if you want somewhere still very Greek but quietish I would recommend the Kefalonia Palace in Lixouri, it's right on a beach on the outskirts of the town but there is a curtesey bus run into the town several times a day but it's not a lot in a taxi if you want to come into town at night for a meal, you can book full board which is a 4 course meal every evening or an apartment.
I have been going to Lixouri now since 1989 and it has not changed much, it's a working town where you see the locals going about there daily business, the children in the school will run to the playground railing and say hello what is your name, the ferry boat ride over to Agostoli is very reasonable the local bus service again from Agostoli take you all over the Island very cheaply, Kefalonia has a lot to see, beautiful scenery, and really really lovely local people.
