How about when you pay for your first meal and drinks and see how little it has cost.
TWO favourite times.
The first one doesn't happen every day, it happens just the once. Thats when you've arrived at your hotel, unpacked, had a shower and made your way to a favourite shack. The temperatures are 30+, (you know it's bitterly cold back home) and you get your first ice-cold Kingfisher and let the stresses and strains of everyday life (plus the travelling) just slip-slide away. A feeling of smugness and well-being overcomes your body as you know you've two long weeks of this ahead of you. Well, two weeks for me and the missus anyhows !!!
The second is watching the sun set with yet another beer, listening to mood/chill music at a shack, contemplating on where to eat that night and which footwear hasn't turned red. Its all good !!!!!!!!!
It's a case of everyone to their own .......... but just for the record, I have The first one doesn't happen every day, it happens just the once. I think youve summed it up Knobsy

I can't believe we aren't going back this season - we convinced ourselves to try somewhere new "as there are so many other places to see.... blah blah blah"
I'm so envious of you all!!
Joking aside, you can get that same sort off 'buzz' in the majority of destinations. It just seems a teeny-weeny bit more laid back of a buzz in Goa though.
but we keep returning to Goa We have about 4 best times of day
morning afternoons evenings and asleep
Pat
yes i am with you grannypat i love all the time we spend in lovely goa
My best part of the day?
its from the time i get up, to the time i get put back to bed
Heaven!!!
cant wait for Nov.

It would seem that despite all the bad news about Goa we all still feel drawn to it.Is there really anywhere else that quite has this magnetism?
It may sound silly but, everytime I'm reminded that I'm not off to Goa this season I get this really sad feeling inside!! I just can't explain it.
Sorry Fiona
I like my late afternoon walk from the River Princess up the surf to Calangute and back, just listening to my ipod chill music and people watching.

I think the best time of day is Beer O'clock!!!! just as Happy Hour approaches for my Cocktails and the sun begins to set!!
What IS that smell? I know the one you mean, but can't quite put my finger on it.
1. When the plane lands and the doors open. It doesn't matter that it may still be dark but you can instantly feel the heat and smell the smells of Goa, if you know what I mean.
2. Breakfast between 7 and 8 am, because it is sunny but not hot and the birdsong is really lovely.
3. Watching a sunset either on the beach or on the balcony of our room, sipping a beer.
