For anyone flying to Samui on Bangkok Airways, the airline has just hiked its prices 20% much to the annoyance of Samui hoteliers and tour operators.
They insist the new ticket price is a turn-off for tourists, who can now get cheap flights to Phuket, Trang & Krabi on low cost carriers. Protests at the airport are threatened.
But at over 5,000 baht for a one way ticket it does seem a bit pricey, as you can fly Bkk - Singapore return for around the same amount.
Have to say- its a pity they have a monopoly( and the airport!). They may find a lot of their summer holidaymakers will look at the likes of Hua Hin.
