Fully recommend this friendly little bar on Coronation Street in Malgrat.
Jordi and Michelle go out of their way to make all guests welcome and offer lots of fun activities for all the family. Their food is good and very competitively priced and the added 'extra's when Jordi's dad is around are always a joy to see. Despite the competition on the Street, this bar seems more keen to give people a good time and less out for the 'money' which makes a pleasing change in this day and age.
We stayed opposite the black bull and all the other bars, in the papi. dont think i can stomach full board any more. slowed the drinking down.

we stayed in the santa susanna end and only went into malgrat a couple of times ( on account of the rain in the evenings), there was a local bar in the back streets we saw, that was roasting chickens on a log burning spit,, open to the street,,,,,, i stood there for a warm for a minute as it was blowing a gale,,,,,,,,

First two in august we were there, plenty of sun mid 80's. three storms at tea time and one around midnight. locals said it was first rain since december. the rain came at the right time, if there is a right time. since we have come home the hot weather seems to have dropped off.
Was there 15th to 22nd.... weather was a bit iffy at first but generally very warm and no rain.....after the thunderstorm (good lightening) on the night of the 15th.

Did anyone go in the new Eureka bar and what was it like ?
We havn`t been to Malgrat since the old Eureka closed where we used to stay in the apartments upstairs in fact we were there the last week before it closed.
Good to hear Jordi is doing well at The Black Bull, he`s a proper nutter & joker and always made you feel welcome at the old Eureka.
We want to go back but need to find somewhere decent and reasonable to stay on a D.I.Y basis, hotel or apartments, making our own way there by Easy Jet or BMI, anyone got any ideas ?
All the hotels work out at 70 / 80 euros a day for 2 which is a bit steep considering the foods usually a bit bland ( from prev experience )

Very small the new eureka compared to the old one. still they try to give people a good time, never be the same though.
Didn`t think it would be very big, I saw inside the empty unit before they fitted it out the last time we were in Malgrat just prior to the old one closing.
They hadn`t got the councils approval to carry out the work reqd to open at that time and were sweating a bit as to whether they would get it ready in time for the new season.
Who runs the new place is it the elder son as Jordi is down the road at The Black Bull ?

Same people there as the old one, with the cheeky old man of course.
Very rich. went on wally train up santa sue hills lovely pads, all made from us brits , but they have the sun, thats their trump card.
I`ve seen the houses up there as well

We stayed across from new eureka at hotel papi. saw the new appartments they looked almost ready, if not ready.
That`s where we were thinking of going the Papi. You can book it without the travel agent from their own website and make your own way there easily either to Barcelona or Gerona airports.
The reports I read say Papi is ok, but food a bit hit and miss on occasions.

Everyone concerned with papi ,etc, staff, were very good. food plentyful but full board gets a bit repetitive. our third time there in 5 years. would not hesitate to go back to papi.
Who do you book it through ? I can`t find any travel companies that go there to compare it with a D.I.Y. price.
If it`a coach company it`ll have to be D.I.Y. we went on the coach to Malgrat the first time we went and it didn`t suit my missus.

was in malgrat first 2 weks of august who was it that said they were there you will remember us dawn, paul, jemma dean, liam martina we used to go in there every night. also good pubs the champions, eureka.
Fester54 we booked through ferris coach holidays.just reading brochure ,it says if you wish to make your own arrangments, eg they can arrange accomodation, some people we met in papi had done this. they used barcelona airport. taxi 100 euros or train 9 euros. not much difference hey. 
dawny and deano ,We was in malgrat first two in august. ian, alison, anna cara, and sam. we was in the eureka a few times, i went in legends and champions.
The train journey seems to last forever we done it loads of times from Barcelona airport, better than the coach journey though, 24 hrs ....lol
