BULL FIGHTS

Hi Natasha .. as you are just about to set off, I would suggest that you check with the tourist office in Benidorm for information on dates and venues. However, you may want to perhaps think about having a quick look at a bullfight on TV first, to help you decide whether it's something that you would actually like to go along and see in person. Although it is a Spanish tradition, it may not necessarily be a "must do thing" for holidaymakers. There are often mixed and very hostile opinions on the subject outwith Spain, and it's probably best we don't go down that road!! But each to their own, and I'm sure the tourist office will supply you with more info, if required. :wink

Your best bet is to go to the Bull Ring itself to ask about bullfights. The tourist info places rarely have any information about what happens at the Plaza de Toros, be it a bullfights or concerts. Our old apartment was close to there and we could see the fights if we so desired. I only looked once. :yikes It's quite horrible, I wouldn't recommend it.

Perhaps things have changed then pebbles, as I recall the tourist office in the Old Town used to have all the information. I was thinking they might even have sold tickets at one time, but that may well have been the excursion shop a few doors away.

David, the old town office is the most likely to have the info, because it is the best one. We don't often go to that one because it's difficult to park nearby.

When are you in Benidorm?
If you are there in June your best place to go is Alicante were there is a 2nd catagory plaza with bullfights fot about 10 continuous days were all the top matadors will perform. It co-insides with the San Juan fiesta in the city of Alicante.

There are also bullfights in Benidorm in the summer months, but your'e likely to see better matadors in Alicante - although that wont guarantee a better bullfight.

She's already there
although that wont guarantee a better bullfight.

Probably not, but you can always guarantee that the bull will lose the "fight" :cry

Yawn Yawn,Actually not always. The bulls are sometimes, but very rarely ,spared and allowed to leave the ring and live a life of Riley as a stud bull. This happens when a bull has shown tremendous courage and bravery and a tendancy to charge non stop.Is there anything else you would like me to tell you about the Fiesta Brava?

Actually No and and that is why I left you in the Majorca forum, even though your information was incorrect about ticket sales.

I'm replying to a question posted on the Costa Blanca forum about bullfights in that region. What is wrong with that?

Just because you don't like bullfighting and have strong views on it which you are entitled to why do you object when reply with informative answers to a members query?
As for ticket sales its obvious that you get your information from some animal rights viewpoint.I get mine from another source. We will have to disagree who is correct.

Nothing wrong with that, except if you'd read the OP's post, you would have realised that she was already leaving that night.
Best we agree to disagree
