Hi, I've just got back from Cyprus on Saturday (25th Oct). We went on a blanket trip while we were there, organised by PAL (have no idea what it stands for!) which the Thomson reps allowed to be promoted at the welcome meeting! We were picked up from the hotel at 9.30 and taken to a local hotel where we were given the hard sell for their new mattresses which apparently are supposed to be the new thing and we apparently shouldn't bother with Tempur mattresses now as they are apparently no good. Dust mite this, dust mite that, no hoovering your mattress regularly is no good, no wonder I have asthma apparently! All done by an annoying lady who seems constantly hyperactive! This lasted about an hour then there was another presentation. Think party planning and you get the idea. Anyway eventually about 11am we set off for Aphrodite's rock where we were taken to an extortionate cafe where it cost 7 Euros for 2 cans of coke and 2 chocolate bars! Then we were taken to a pottery to spend even more money on pottery that would undoubtedly break before we got home anyway.
It was a nice time spent overlooking Aphrodite's rock, but every which way we turned we were expected to pay lots of money. £1,400 for a mattress? No way! No one fell for it, especially when they said we could only make the purchase that day. Overall it was a waste of a morning. Nice looking at Aphrodite's rock though.
