I have booked with Thomson to go to this hotel in September, I booked a seaview room and now Thomson tell me that they have had to alter my booking to a limited seaview room because their contract with the hotel has been revised.
If I want to still go to this hotel (which I do) I have to accept their terms.
what I would like to know is - has anyone stayed at the Bonamar if so do
any of the limited seaview rooms look into the hotel that is accross the road from the Bonamar.
I would be grateful for any comments.

If you can get accomodation IN THE BONAMAR FROM ANOTHER SOURCE with the room type of your choice, then you could get a flight with a budget airline,ryanair,easyjet and air berlin all fly to palma.
This also happened to me I fly out on the 31st May and they only gave me two weeks notice.they also gave me back my money for seaview room. I e-mailed the hotel they told me They might be able to give me a seaview room when I arrive at the cost of 10euro perday.
I will let you know what happens when I get back on the 7June.Calabonagirl is at the Bonamar at the moment and is due back on Saturday she might be able to give you some advice
Thank you for your replies. I too got my money back for seaview room but I will take your advice and email the hotel I will let you know what happens.
I have emailed the Bonamar Hotel and am awaiting a reply, can you tell me how long you waited for them to respond to your email.

we too are going to the bonamar in 5 weeks time and guess what ?
thomsons have wrote us a letter and have returned our sea view supplement.....this is by cheque !
this holiday was booked up last august after our return from a wonderful holiday.
very strange why we are all getting our sea view room supplements back !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the above information. I will have to wait for the post to arrive then.I will email them next week.Calabonagirl is due back shortly so perhaps she will give us all some infomation but I think she booked directly with the hotel.
On 8th May I get two letters from Thomson one telling me about not getting the seaview room and tickets for holiday saying I was in a limited sea view room When I called Thomson they said they had refunded me £14 which when I checked it was put in my bank on 5May they told me i could cancel with a full refund. I emailed the hotel and was told I would have to wait till I arrived at resort and if seaview was available I could get one at 10Euro per night.On Saturday 12May received tickets saying I had seaview room On 16May another final invoice still saying limited seaview room and that I would be receiving a cheque for £28. On 19May I got the cheque I just think Thomson do not know what they are doing.When you phone them the staff do not understand what is going on with the pricing.I just hope when I get there things work out as I go on Thursday.It is very funny this is happening to everyone
Hi everyone. I have had a FANTASTIC TIME!!! The sea views were a good talking pont, everyone with Thomson who paid for sea view were refunded money. I booked with Protur direct and got a sea view, without paying any extra (room 412) . I think it was luck, I did email them before I went and asked nicely for a sea view. All other rooms have side sea view one side looking over hotel next door the other way over adjacent bars. But this is a wonderful hotel no complaints at all worth every euro paid. Rooms are small but immaculate, and so clean. Food out of this world. I would go back tomorrow if I could . Must dash first load of washing done. Any more questions let me know. Hubby is going to put some photos on in the next few days. I'm not clever enough! CBG
im so glad that you had a wonderful holiday.........but then secretly i knew you would as i have stated that we are returning in 5 weeks time.
i have received an email from the reception of the bonamar and they will try and fulfill our room request.
iam so pleased to hear that the food quality has not changed as in the past we never could have faulted it.........here goes another 7lbs put on !!
just a quick question what was the entertainment like ? we always enjoyed the daytime activities and the evening shows and wondered also if that had changed !

Lou I have confession I went out every night, but I did hear that the night entertainment was good especially the guitarist, the magician and the acrobatic cats. We strolled to the Cala Bona hotel to see Elvis and Robbie Williams. Alicia had good shows also.so much choice. I pretended to be asleep for the daytime entertainment. darts ,pool archery its too much like hard work. I only put 2 lbs on (that was the 2lbs I lost before going away!!!)must have been the walking and swimming. 5 weeks will pass very quick.CBG
Glad to hear that you had a lovely holiday. Do you know why Thomson cannot get seaview rooms has it got to do with price or something else.Will you be putting a review on hotel forum. We are going on Thursday I hope we enjoy it as much....

thanks for the info about the entertainment..........sounds like its very similar to our previous holidays.........i love my sunbed but my oh enjoys joining in with the daytime activities !
we too don't always stay in for the evening entertainment..we like to have a stroll along the prom after dinner and i love to sit down by the harbour and have a cocktail while the sun is setting !!
what was the weather like ?........we have always had lovely weather and to be honest the begining of july at times is too hot for me now !!!

I have emailed the Bonamar twice now with regard to Thomson cancelling our seaview room. I asked if they could reserve us a seaview room and we would meet any additional cost, we are travelling on 8th September, I havn't had a reply to either email. Can anyone tell me if they have received a reply to their emails and if so what am I doing wrong.
