We havent been on holiday for good few years. 11 to be exact!. We have booked up for Jan. We are also planning to go away July/Aug 2010 for 10 days. Should i book just now or hold off to early next year. As received flyer today saying if i go into Firstchoice store tommorow i get 10% discount. Just wanted some other people opinions on this before i run off and book up. And im sure other tour operators will be doing the same thing to get customers through the door.
Thanks
well the majority of us are desperate for prices tomorrow haha...but i guess it depends where you wanna go, how much you wanna spend, and what the prices are like!
Cheers!.
First choice/thomson are expensive, look at direct holidays prices on the web tomorrow. This year my holiday through DH was £2500 cheaper than thomson wanted.
yeah i must admit I tend to agree with Mike, i've always found first choice/thomsons overpriced compared to direct holidays/thomas cook. I tend to think if you find thomas cook/direct holidays expensive don't even look at first choice haha! last year i got a quote for direct holidays and it was £3015 for 5 adults and 1 child to costa del sol for a fortnight 4* half board...first choice for the same holiday was £6097...more than double lol!
Ill def look around. As ive no prices to compare to, last years ect. As not been away. Ill be on here tommorow to see who has booked up & if they got good deals lol.
Good idea Bri. Keep checking here as we 'experienced holiday bookers' will have a reasonable idea if prices are ok or extortionate. Although I can't wait to price up some holidays, I have a feeling that I won't be booking for a while as I think the first lot of prices will be very high
We have booked our April 2010 already, basically as soon as the first choice brochure came out, as I wanted a specific hotel. I telephoned a few first choice and got their price, checked on line and then phone our local first choice/thomson shop and said would prefer to deal in person, but can they better the price. I got a better price than my 'best quote' which saved overall by nearly £300 and got free insurance, with a low deposit, and pay the rest of deposit by September. I wouldn't normally book that early, but I wanted a specific hotel on a specific travel date and did not want to be disappointed, I still feel I got a good deal. I may have saved a little if I left longer, but I may not have got the travel dates or Hotel, which would have ruined my plans
