We stayed in a Medieval Manoir, in the very centre of beautiful Aquitaine.
The Manoir has been restored and run by an Irish family and they really have done a smashing job.
The Manoir - Manoir Caubeyran - gasconmanoir.com - is located in ancient Gascony, near the vineyards of Bordeaux, in south-west France.
It is located under one hour from Bordeaux, a beautiful city. It is next to the lovely little town of Bazas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We first heard of this area on Rick Stein's - French Odyssey.
The Manoir has six double bedrooms There is also a Swimming Pool, and a huge garden......seven acres I think!!!
The local village is just five minutes away, and includes the requisite boulangerie etc...
We also spent some days on the Atlantic Coast, about an hours drive.
A lovely holiday in a piece of French heritage.
I recommend gasconmanoir!!!
