Hi,
In the past I've bought RAC cover for international travel. English speaking agents etc... full roadside repair, or taken to a local garage or repatriation (spelling!). The RAC cover is getting expensive and I wondered if there were any suggestions?
I only ever drive abroad in my own car in France, everywhere else I hire locally.
Never needed to use it - but then that is the purpose of insurance I guess.
Cheers,
Barry D.
Try your car insurance company. I used to be Norwich Union and I could add foreign breakdown cover to my policy for 12 months for less than what the breakdown companies wanted for 3 weeks.
I don't think it is possible to buy breakdown cover in France to cover your time here in a foreign vehicle. Sorry. Much better to try a UK insurance provider.
