Under EU regulations it is illegal to carry any meat, poultry or dairy into another country on a domestic flight.

From the FCO "According to E.U. conventions, you cannot take any animal-based food products (including any form of meat or dairy) into Spain."

SO no, you can't I'm afraid. Food is relatively cheap in supermarkets on GC anyway, compared to the UK. :D

:D Hi Hoffa, you can buy food like that in the supermarkets over there. Never been to C/T, but have been to other resorts in GC, (PDI, Maspalomas,), and there are even spar supermarkets, where you can buy most things, that you would find in your local supermarket!

 Sorry, meant to say PR (Not CT!).

We always use the large Netto supermarket by the main drop off taxi rank at the bottom of the main Commercial centre (next to a large restaurant that does a great breakfast and a pharmacy) If you look in the freezers they even sell English sausages.

Is that true?

My daughter contacted Lanzarote tourist board a couple of months ago and was told there was no restrictions on bringing food in. :?

We always go self catering and often find it just as cheap to eat out as it to buy food in! :)

the foods cheap...meals are cheap & if you find the right bars.. the drinks cheap    I've been feed and watered & now full up....bye bye :D :D

don't waste your time taking food.

If you do need to take food there are no restrictions now on taking food out of the country, have checked again today.

We will need to take some as a member of our party must have gluten free food and it is hard, if not impossible, to get any gluten free bread in the supermarkets. She also can only have goats milk so will take some to get us going as I don't think you can buy that either.

I often take bacon and sausage for breakfast in a cool box. I think your ok as long as you don't over do it and they can see its for your consumption and not for re sale. The best thing to do is to contact the airline you are travelling with. Becareful though as most self catering apartment kitchens aren't equipped for cooking full meals, you ususually only get limited equipment, a toatster and two cooking rings.
