Yes I heard the same about the Thomson brochures for summer 2010 Presto. However, they don't know exactly what holidays will be on sale at that time. Still that's better than the previous estimate of July for the launch
I have a feeling that it will be the cruises that go on sale on the 23rd ----- just a guess!
When we were in Devon last week the First Choice shop said all holidays were coming our on the 23rd for Thomson and First Choice
This week in the COOP Travel store near to us (West Mids) none were available until July (though this was the store that told us that no Thomson wintersun 2010 holidays were on sale yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I am just very cynical re travel agent shops at the minute and just keep checking the web sites ----------- Thomsons Cruises say 23rd for cruises and to be honest I have no reason not to believe them.
I just hope that holidays are cheaper than those on sale for Winter 2010 as their prices are through the roof! At the minute I can see us settling for holidays in North Wales, Llandudno (Feb) and Devon (Torbay in August) --- NO disrespect to either ------- just time to pray for sunshine!
llandudno in feb,what posseses you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously I think that in the Uk we are sometimes too quick to overlook the beauty we have around us ------ just love Wales ----- LLandudno Bay inparticular !!!
We are already checking out Blackpool and the Imperial for October --------------------
BUT ------------ we are still checking out those brochures on the 23rd for our Summer Break !
I think we will do a mix and match ----
i have spent alot of time, walking along the seafront, this winter & i agree, about the rough sea, even a little wind & abit chilly,it certainly blows the cobwebs away.i don't do rain though.
when i used to work in the hotels,i used to love sitting, looking out at the rough sea,on a bad day.it used to mesmerise me,so calming!
now i run a pub,so spare time is precious,so the walks are definately welcome.
you are right,we don't appreciate, what we have.i walked round the orme last week and i said to my husband,it's one of the best views ever, just one we never think about.
i for one, running a pub,are very grateful, for visitors in feb,as it is a hard month business wise,so please carry on visiting & have a wonderful time.
sorry for going of topic
tracy
When do your brochures come out Tracy ? Does that put it back on topic ?
I know they are holding out because of the exchange rate but some people still want to book there hols early
Shazajo, when I went into our nearest Thomas Cook office on Thursday this week, there were very few brochures on the shelves. I was told that they were waiting for the new brochures to arrive and they were expected in by next Thursday (23rd).
Don't know about summer next year, but I'm having probs booking for next Spring. Most of the main TO's aren't bringing up on-line prices for next April although their brochures are out. I've picked a property from the Thomson brochure and the same property with travelsupermarket.com (which shows it as Thomson), yet when I try and book the hotel doesn't come up as available. I can't believe that it's fully booked already. Also, apart from the one I fancied there are hardly any others coming up e.g. Thomson's main website only comes up with about 4 hotels in the whole of Morocco
Strange you say that - we have just been on Thomsonski, Crystalski and First Choice ski and all say that every ski holiday for 2010 is unavailable for any / all accom
Thomson Faraway Shores, First Choice Tropical, Thomson & First Choice Florida and Thomson Cruises for 2010 are being released on 23rd April.
All other FC & Thomson 2010 brochures will be available around end of June, beg of July.
I asked the girls at Thomsons when they were expecting the summer 2010 brochures in yesterday and they said 24th April. Usually, the holidays go online quicker than this. Thomas Cook had some stuff online last week but it wasn't quite ready to be booked.
I love the first editions - sometimes you spot errors. Got a deal to the Maldives in November 2007 that should have been £1600 (& was in the 2nd edition) for £1060. Just got back! It's worth going through the 1st editions and the online stuff very carefully as they have to honour any 'typos' and sometimes there are quite a few.

Not so long ago I read on another thread here on HT, that that isn't the case and they are perfectly entitled to say it was an error and charge the proper price I didn't think they could do that but apparently there was a good debate going about it - I wish I could remember the name of the thread.
If at some point they spot the error its not 100% that you still get the cheap holiday.
I got lucky April 2007 booking Lykia World for Summer 2008. There was a very error on pricing that meant we saved about 1K. A few of us at the hotel had taken advantage of it and all had booked at the same time as I spoke to a couple of families who couldn't beleive they had got it so cheap.
I think they had forgotten to put the underoccupancy supplements on the family4 rooms in the first edition of the brochure, which they corrected in subsequent editions.
However there is another person on this forum that this happened to some years before with the same company and they refused to honour it.
Swings and roundabouts I fear.

Sydney
thanks for that It just seems that you get told one thing then another, never mind just have to wait
Because this was the difference between £1060 and £1600, rather than something silly like £60 and £600, maybe it wasn't picked up on. It was £1060 for other weeks either side of the still-madly-overpriced-school holidays so I don't feel at all guilty!!
I thought the government had regulated the school hols prices? They seem to be getting higher and higher every year!
They were all available to book back in November, so it could be that a lot of the ones up until the end of April have gone already.
hi all have already booked cuba for july 2010 ,thomas cook faraway has been available for ages. might not suit every one but it was a good price 3000 for 2 adults and 1 teen.4 star ai.
My youngest's starting to look for prices for Moon Palace, Cancun for end of May 2010. He's not having much luck. Can anyone help. Preferably and London, Birmingham or Manchester.
