I've just been told by my local Thomas Cook that they are expecting Summer 2010 holidays to be released this week, possibly the 4th. They are also doing a £5 advanced registration scheme whereby you pay the fiver & as soon as your holiday is available to book they call you & the £5 gets taken off the cost of your hol but if you don't book anything then you get the money back.

I know, I took it with a (very large) pinch of salt.
In the last 3 months i've been told that they were being released in April, May, June, July and now thomson are saying to me that it will probably be August when they are released!
If it carries on like this then i think we're just going to sack the idea & have a bit of retail therapy with the money we've saved up instead.
I just rang Thomas Cook direct and they confirmed it was 18th June!!!!! I asked if it was a confirmed date and without hesitation, she replied that it was. We continue to wait......
Chris i would take that with a pinch of salt! I phoned back in March and I was told it was confirmed as 10th April lol! Like the others, I'll believe it when i see it!
It could be right, I phoned Thomas Cook yesterday and they told me in the next couple of weeks. Will keep checking website - I'm getting really frustrated not being able to price up for next year.
So am I - I'm usually booked by now - or at least I have a clear indication of what I'm going to do. Its extremely frustrating.

If you try and book Shorthaul on the Thomas Cook website it tells you that its not available until July.

My latest is the thomas cook direct sales agents have been advised 2010 will go on sale within the next 2 weeks.
I asked in my local first choice shop and the girl there said she honestly didnt know when the summer 2010 will be on sale as the tour ops keep changing the dates 
not much help eh?
she also went on to say that she personally thought it to be a silly idea....yes sales are slow but by holding back next years brochures is not and will not make people more likely to book this summer instead.

Someone on Tripadvisor said all First Choice TAs got an email and First Choice/Thomson brochures will be out 25th June. Fingers crossed, Thomas Cook will be out sooner.

Well Thomson have extended thier savings on 2009 summer hols which was supposed to end on Monday. It obviously didnt go as well as they hoped which is why they have extended it - it doesnt give an end date to the new special offers

They done that last year as well and prices were much lower than this year. I reckon people who missed the boat with no booking just after xmas are looking at the prices and are saying no thanks too expensive and if you have a couple of kids you are looking at £3000 to £4000 easily.
Next year will be hard for the tour ops because they are just now started to feel the affect with the economic slow down.

Latest update from Thomson is that they will be going on sale 7th July, I was told that this was a definite but i'll believe it when it happens. Also Thomas Cook said today that they have evrything on the system ready but they have been told to wait until everyone else starts selling before they are allowed to.
Last I heard from TC was 18th June - it would make sense if they came out first just before Thomsons. Fingers crossed - the waiting may soon be over

god i hope so! it's driving me potty now all this waiting.
Same here , I will only believe it when I see the actual posters on TA windows advertising that they are available to book.
