This morning we have just been informed that instead of travelling from Stansted 08/08/06 to Pafos, we are expected to travel from Birmingham International, the time difference being about 4hrs. The return flight is (supposedly) unaffected.
We were offered a full refund by T/O Freedom Flights or take the Brum flight plus 15 GBP each - upped to 25 each after arguement. Their excuse was that the carrier Nordic Air (never heard of them - should have known better) had changed the aircraft type (and therefore capacity) and the last to book were being bumped off to Birmingham.
Given the arrangements made - visiting relatives over there/cattery/mother - in -law/kitchen sink etc etc we feel we have no choice but to accept but wonder if we really should accept their 'compensation'. The person spoken to at Freedom flights was rude and condescending - the travel agent I have no problem with. Anyway, 25 each - we have to get to BHX on a sunday morning, never mind the inconvenience!
Granted we are not travelling with children (this time), we have wonderful neighbours willing to transport us and no doubt this is all 'within the rules' but we would like to know our rights (if we have any) as we have taken exception to the attitude of the T/O - particularly the evasiveness: refusal to answer direct questions. Basically ther attitude is 'we have the right'.
Any advice gratefully received!!!
