Hi all
Can anyone tell me if i can take some butter with me to Florida next week .Last time i was there i did'nt like theres and just want it for my toast in the morning's.
Thanks Sue
Who will know if you dont tell? its only butter, its not as if you are trying to take a pig or a cow
I take things with me when i go abroad (bacon, lurpak, sausage and other stuff) i have never been stopped.
If you do take some, wrap it up well because it tends to melt before you can get it in to a fridge, and you dont want your clothes to be greasy.

It might only be Butter but is it banned by the FDA? In view of current security problems it is quite possible that you will be searched. If it is an item not allowed then your holiday could easily be spent in less salubrious surroundings than planned. There is a big problem with people importing banned foodstuffs. Each country has its own list for various reasons. Check link below.
I know what you mean.
I went to America 20 years ago and found that their eggs tasted of cheese!!!!!
I really can't understand people wanting to take their home comforts with them. If self catering I only take enough tea and coffee for the first drink and then we go shopping to stock up.
If you try and smuggle in forbidden goods especially to the States then you could be in serious trouble as previously said.
Ever heard the saying 'when in Rome do as the Romans do'.

I don't actually know about butter but I sympathise as I find the American butter too sickly aswell. You can probably buy an English product in the supermarket although the prices for English products were very inflated but worth doing if you really need English butter!

If i was going to the States I wouldn't take any food at all aprt from maybe what i'd be consuming in flight. I don't think expressed breast milk is allowed to be taken in either and some states even ban unopened tins of formula. Only know that from looking it up for someone on another website I go on.
Sue
i dont think you can take meat or dairy produce into the states
