Could anyone advise me on the legal requirements when buying cars in spain[costa blanca]as I have been told that NIE numbers may not be the only requirement soon,residencia may be needed also.

I live in Spain and haven't heard anything about needing residencia. As It can a year or more to get residencia, I can't see it being a "workable" requirment.

Maybe it is different on the mainland, but here in the Canaries you need a NIE number, and if you don't have a residencia then you need a certificate of empadronamiento from your local town hall.

Thanks for the advice,Can anyone recomend any garages around la manga or north of there towards Orihuela selling reliable second hand cars but reasonably priced.Websites would be good.
