In general cars a cheaper here than in the UK but don't expect to walk into your local dealer and ask for a discount even if you have the cash in your hand because you won't get one, the price you see is the price you pay unless the manufacture is doing and special deals like Citroen sometimes do in the UK.

The best place to look at is the Spanish site for the car that you want some have English pages but it is fairly easy to follow if you take your time.

Also you need to remember that new cars sold here and better equipped where as in the UK you would have to pay for as they say extras which are standard over here.

When I bought my car I went to five or six dealerships and was quoted five or six different prices. In the end one dealer in Ferrol wrote me a price on the back of his business card and told me to show it to the dealer where I initially enquired - the guy in Ferrol told me he would prefer to sell to people who live in Ferrol, and those who live in Coruna to buy in Coruna. Armed with his card I negotiated a further 500€ reduction in price. At the time the list price excluding delivery etc was 16,300€ I got the car on the road for 13,400€

Do you really need a new one? I hire a car at Alicante airport every year and I've yet to have one with more than 10,000 kilometers on the clock and I bet half of those miles are put on going up and down the motorway. They must be selling them somewhere!
