:Dyep they do work as tom our taxi driver has one in all his cars no problems
best bet is getting a portable one with a car kit (cassette goes in the stereo) as these have all the anti vibration brackets with them. However have been in a few taxis out there with no cd players and no problem with them jumping.
thanks all for replies my problem was regards to wiring
Depends on what car you want to install it in.
i have a sneaky feeling that some of the very small cars have a 6 volt system. i.e. the little van/taxis
Any normal european type car will be ok.

the car would be the suzuki taxi type
thats the ones I was thinking of. Not sure if they are 6 or 12 volt
I know that you can use a plug in type of CD player via cigarette lighter socket on a 24 volt system ok but not sure that they will work on 6 volt.
Maybe someone over there can ask a taxi driver if they are 6 or 12 volt
