We bought in Majorca three years ago and it was straightforward. All done in 8 weeks including getting a spanish mortgage. We used Halifax Espana and have set up a Halifax account here for free transfers. Watch out for IVA not included in the amount you can borrow.
Ours was a new build so no worries about anyone moving out!
