hello all ..where is the best place to buy the chinese currency (the yuan).
in england or in beijing anybody know please.
regards.j.d....
just got back from China. The rate was not that different in either country (about 9.7). The ATM's are easy to find and use with instructions in English. I used them twice and the rate was similar, at least not worth crying over so it depends on what charges your bank provider will levy. I'm with Halifax and know it's a £1.50p flat fee per transaction. One thing though some people with Barclays had to ring their banks to get authorisation (not bad as far as security goes) and my frnd with Lloyds couldn't use his so it''s worth checking if you intend to use it. Also credit cards are widely accepted.

I'm sitting wracking my brains and I can't honestly remember if I got any before we went as I seem to remember something about you not being able to take currency in or it being limited in some way. If I did get it beforehand I will have ordered it through the post office.
In China I simply used ATMs to withdraw cash and as Greekofile says, they are easy to use.
