The hotel itself is situated on one side of a sandy bay, with the Hotel Barcelo Cala Vinas on the other, along with some private apartments. Its about a half hours walk, five minute drive from magaluf along a winding road through pine trees. There is about one maybe two resturants open nearby, all other shops /bars were unocupied the last time I was in the area.

I've been to the Cala Vinas, the Hotetur Cala Vinas, it's a four star, I don't know who London fly is, we booked it over the Web thru a great outfit http://www.majorca-hotels.co.uk quick service, with good prices, and helpful staff, based in Majorca, so they know what they are talking about. The Hotel was great, but it didn't offer All Inclusive when we went there! It has it's own small beach, fantastic seaviews, and nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of Magalluf, but still close-by, about twenty minutes walking.

Hi there :wave Has anyone been to the Calla Vinas hotel or the resort recently. I know that the hotel is right on the beach but what else do I need to know. We are 2 40somethings, 2 mid twentys and 2 small children. Is this resort suitable for a family holiday. Also the reports say that Magaluf is a '10 min' walk away, is this right? Is there anything else nearby worth seeing?

We stayed at the Barcelo Cala Vinas apartments a few years ago, i think the hotel was opposite. Other than the small bay which was really nice there were one or two shops in the area. No bars. The walk down to Magalluf took roughly 25-30 minutes, ok going down but needed a taxi coming back . Very quiet area.

The entetainment at the Barcelo was first class, both for adults and children, always something going on day and night .

Is there anywhere to walk in the evening?
I have heard that it is a bit isolated!
