sort of....its a big area to your left when you come to the end of the big dual carriage way before you cross over to the shops where the big supermarket is ....just set back from the road going left....its more for the under 10yr olds....but there is a bungie trampoline my then nearly13 yr old and his friend liked...and had a laugh on some of the other stuff too.....further along that road is a go cart track for the older ones thats got other stuff in as well ......ps if you walk over the coastal walk to llfranc you can take boat trips...think there is one to the bat caves if they like that kind of thing.....if you want a fair arcades ect take a taxi to playa de aro...think thats the right name....we did... made a day of it as has nice beach and lots of shops ect, mcdonalds and resturants....you can bus it but friends who did said bit of a pain...we got minibus type taxi and didnt pay much more....reception will sort it for you..

we hired bikes for the lads and they went riding round callela village and the beach....there are tennis courts ect where you just pay to hire rackets ect...and a footie pitch....the men on the sight challenged the boys to a game.....think the boys won....there is a games room under the pool resturant had the usual ride on arcade games and pool tables.....can get on the internet in the bar

take the snorkle gear and the telescope fishing rod in your case....my lot spent a lot of time using both on the beach...beautiful clear water with lots of fish

its a lovely peaceful relaxed place for adults...but there is enough to keep the youngsters happy to...my lads really liked it there....and they want to go back ...the youngest is 14 1/2 now...got other places need go this year but want to go next year if euro gets better

Tweetie, like you i want to go back next year, and i may even drive it ... i just fell in love with CDP when i went there! :)
That fair you are talking about, i only walked into Palafrugell town once ... was that the place on the left hand side as you walk up that had a large frog as it's logo??? Palafrugell town itself didn't do anything for me, but it's just a normal working town to be honest
Reply
ye think thats the fair.....and ye normal working town....supermarket good over road from that fair...and found some good deals in a sport shop father out where the market is... there is a square there and was being used for festival by local school... market very spanish but either a good walk or bus ride away

Being extra good i paid my holiday balance off last week a month early, typically today i got a letter from Siesta with extra surcharges on it, something to do with the pound being weak against the euro :cry
Reply
There's awful that you have to cover the cost of surcharges
surely you had a contract for the price you paid when you signed your booking form .
I'm sure you wouldn't get a refund if the pound got stronger

hi simikins......I was mooching on their net site earlier this year....more out of habit than seriously looking for a holiday...but if a good deal would have been interested....they were not as competative price wise as they had been in the past.....before they started including the option to fly.....I like this company and had many years of perfect service from them.....but any chance of me picking a deal up was shot in the leg when I noticed the small print about the surcharges to do with the euro.....but they didnt quote at what euros to the pond rate they had based their prices on.....smelt a rat ....if no rate quoted to compare and see if surcharge was relevant and fair.... then how could they justify how much extra they asked you for under the surcharge condition.....the rates have been all over the place this last year...from 1.18 euros to a pound down to 0.96 to the pound...last time I looked they were about 1.10.....so what was it when they put the prices on the net.....add into the equasion that they change prices according to what deals they are promoting .....and it makes surcharges linked to the euro rates very unsafe unless they quote a rate at time of booking...

I said no way hosa ...not falling for that one....so didnt book.....went for allinclusive package instead
Reply
pity you didnt take the rate at time of booking.....and again at time of final payment.....just dawned on me that they should only charge you the difference between time you booked as that was when the contract came into force.......not from when they put their prices on the net....

they priced in pounds ...expected payment in pounds......if the cost of your holiday was based on the euro they should have also quoted in euros and shown full cost of holiday in euros as well as pounds

i had read the small print, but thought it would be a fuel surcharge if i did get one, luckily the surcharge was only small. just hoping i get offered an upgrade when we go :tup

I have received my invoice today from Siesta with said currency surcharge on.
The reasoning is that prices were calculated in March 2008 at £1.3117 to £1 and the exchange has gone down 12%. To be fair to them they have only passed on 4% and will refund 50% of this surcharge if you book prior to 31.12.09 for your holiday next year.
I have been charged £28.64 (accom only) and as Siesta were a lot cheaper compared to Canvas, Eurocamp etc when I booked, I really don't mind paying this surcharge.

Simkins, we're off to Montgri with Siesta on Saturday.

After paying our balance we got a letter to cover the surcharge.

Last week we got a letter to say we had been upgraded to a Siesta 8, free of charge (from a 4)

Has anyone yet been this year, and if you went with siesta did they use the ferry or the eurotunnel? i myself prefer the ferry it breaks the journey up nicely, but it says in the brochure that they now mainly use the tunnel :( , and if anyone has used the tunnel is there a perfume shop at the terminal, my daughter and i used to love squirting ourselves on the ferry and getting a good bargain as well.

Prefer the ferry myself, always good for a leg stretch and a break from the bus

Went to Sanguli, Salou with Siesta at spring bank and used the tunnel both ways,,,

On a different note,, I'm off to La Siesta next month and would like to know how close the two other towns are to the site and how easy a walk it is to get to them,,,
Reply
hi tyke101.....dont know which 2 towns you mean....but le franc is easy to walk to over the coastal path...worth doing just for the views...tweetie

Sorry got confused, thought there were two villages, I take it Llafranc is the only one close by.
Are there any other small beeches/coves etc close and which way, north or south,, had a look on google but doesn't show small roads and paths.
thanks.

Well, i suppose if you walk down from the campsite, you can count Calella De Palafrugell and Llafranc as two seperate villages :)

will take you 5-10 mins to walk down to CDP from the site

and if you walk north to Llafranc it will take a further 10-15 mins (depending how quick you walk!)

You can keep going north from there, gets a bit hilly, but you can go up to the San Sebastia lighthouse, worth it for the views

If you keep going round the coast you will come to a small cove called Cala Pedrosa

and if you keep going north you'll end up in Tamariu (sorry, i only have a pic of the diving board!! :rofl )

If you go south from CDP, there aren't so many towns or villages, but you come to a botanical gardens and there is a great path down to some lovely coastal beaches

highly recommended, you'll love it :)
