we hired bikes for the lads and they went riding round callela village and the beach....there are tennis courts ect where you just pay to hire rackets ect...and a footie pitch....the men on the sight challenged the boys to a game.....think the boys won....there is a games room under the pool resturant had the usual ride on arcade games and pool tables.....can get on the internet in the bar
take the snorkle gear and the telescope fishing rod in your case....my lot spent a lot of time using both on the beach...beautiful clear water with lots of fish
its a lovely peaceful relaxed place for adults...but there is enough to keep the youngsters happy to...my lads really liked it there....and they want to go back ...the youngest is 14 1/2 now...got other places need go this year but want to go next year if euro gets better
That fair you are talking about, i only walked into Palafrugell town once ... was that the place on the left hand side as you walk up that had a large frog as it's logo??? Palafrugell town itself didn't do anything for me, but it's just a normal working town to be honest
ye think thats the fair.....and ye normal working town....supermarket good over road from that fair...and found some good deals in a sport shop father out where the market is... there is a square there and was being used for festival by local school... market very spanish but either a good walk or bus ride away
Being extra good i paid my holiday balance off last week a month early, typically today i got a letter from Siesta with extra surcharges on it, something to do with the pound being weak against the euro
surely you had a contract for the price you paid when you signed your booking form .
I'm sure you wouldn't get a refund if the pound got stronger
I said no way hosa ...not falling for that one....so didnt book.....went for allinclusive package instead
they priced in pounds ...expected payment in pounds......if the cost of your holiday was based on the euro they should have also quoted in euros and shown full cost of holiday in euros as well as pounds
i had read the small print, but thought it would be a fuel surcharge if i did get one, luckily the surcharge was only small. just hoping i get offered an upgrade when we go
The reasoning is that prices were calculated in March 2008 at £1.3117 to £1 and the exchange has gone down 12%. To be fair to them they have only passed on 4% and will refund 50% of this surcharge if you book prior to 31.12.09 for your holiday next year.
I have been charged £28.64 (accom only) and as Siesta were a lot cheaper compared to Canvas, Eurocamp etc when I booked, I really don't mind paying this surcharge.
After paying our balance we got a letter to cover the surcharge.
Last week we got a letter to say we had been upgraded to a Siesta 8, free of charge (from a 4)
Helen
have a great holiday Helen, as we are staying in a siesta 8 the only upgrade we can get is to a siesta 8 deluxe, i stayed in one of those the first time i went, 2 bathrooms bliss!
Has anyone yet been this year, and if you went with siesta did they use the ferry or the eurotunnel? i myself prefer the ferry it breaks the journey up nicely, but it says in the brochure that they now mainly use the tunnel , and if anyone has used the tunnel is there a perfume shop at the terminal, my daughter and i used to love squirting ourselves on the ferry and getting a good bargain as well.
Prefer the ferry myself, always good for a leg stretch and a break from the bus
Went to Sanguli, Salou with Siesta at spring bank and used the tunnel both ways,,,
On a different note,, I'm off to La Siesta next month and would like to know how close the two other towns are to the site and how easy a walk it is to get to them,,,
hi tyke101.....dont know which 2 towns you mean....but le franc is easy to walk to over the coastal path...worth doing just for the views...tweetie
Erm, yeah .... which two towns?
Are there any other small beeches/coves etc close and which way, north or south,, had a look on google but doesn't show small roads and paths.
thanks.
will take you 5-10 mins to walk down to CDP from the site
and if you walk north to Llafranc it will take a further 10-15 mins (depending how quick you walk!)
You can keep going north from there, gets a bit hilly, but you can go up to the San Sebastia lighthouse, worth it for the views
If you keep going round the coast you will come to a small cove called Cala Pedrosa
and if you keep going north you'll end up in Tamariu (sorry, i only have a pic of the diving board!! )
If you go south from CDP, there aren't so many towns or villages, but you come to a botanical gardens and there is a great path down to some lovely coastal beaches
highly recommended, you'll love it
