Hi we are off to Brittany this year and want to go to a campsite with excellent facilities ( we are after a top end mobile home) have looked at eurocamp and siblu etc but they all seem very expensive. Have found a company called MATTHEWS FRANCE. Has anybody stayed with them before and got any advice on which park to go to? We are a family of 4 the kids are 8 ( girl) and 5 ( boy) and are very active.
Any advice would be really appreciated
thanks
We were at Carnac Des Menhirs with Eurocamp last summer and the family opposite us were in a Matthews caravan. It was a lovely van and well equipped. I would also recommend the site as it is very centrally located and it's an area which is good for cycling (lots of hire shops in Carnac).

I cannot recomend them enough, we have been going to Le Ranolien in North Brittany for seven years and it is fantastic. If you are looking for the high end accomodation look at the Seven Islands option.

We went to the Carnac site with Matthews about 3 years ago. Matthews were great to deal with and the campsite was excellent. The mobile home was ok (a mobile home is a mobile home after all) and we didn't have any issues. Carnac is superb, I particularly remember taking a picnic down to the beach one night and we were still there at 10pm - lovely warm evening and still suprisingly light). The camp site is on the edge of the town and it's a 5-10 minute walk to the beaches and the town. The town is great at night, lot's of restaurants and has a buzz to it, but not in a rowdy kind of way. Perfect for kids and grown ups alike. If you have any specific questions then please ask. We're off to the area in late August, but thinking of going to La Trinite, just round the corner.
Matthews is a camping holiday firm and English based so would be more suitable to assist (it's similar to Keycamp/Eurocamp but smaller) UK holidaymakers
Yelloh are a big French firm who operates campsites whilst efficient are not always as individual customer orientated as they could be
Many thanks to you all - any more advice would be most grateful.
We tend to tour for 3 weeks at present but once we retire 3 months will be more like it
I do enjoy Brittany if not only for the Stones of Carnac the sea food and fishing are some of the best I get in the North of France
You can PM if you want anything I might be able to help you with
We stayed at La Grande Metairie in Carnac last July with our kids (8&10) and would highly recommend it. Loads for the kids (& adults) to do - excellent pool complex.
