Weather is still okay then. Not cold at night by any means - but a little airier (certainly more pleasant than a dry sticky August evening).

Taxis are 50 euros with grabthatcab.com. Great service -view online. won't let you down.

Hi went to Protaras a few years back at October half terms holidays,had around 81 most days sea was warm. One terrific thunder storm one evening sat and watched it parked up in the car by the beach,the lightening out to sea was awesome,kids loved it! The next day was like it never happened. Left in sunshine on flight home early November flew into cold wet rainy weather at Heathrow,let down! Protaras very family orientated,lots of nice meals out and a few bars with music. WAs fairly cheap then but Euro has probably inflated things now. Overall nice place with good beaches and very nice locals.

hi protaras is a great resort lots of good restaurants and bars, weather should still be good ,my parents arrived in cyprus sunday night and said weather is great. its one of those resorts that shut for the winter, so it may be very quiet, and some places may be shut. you can get the local bus to ayai napa which is just a few miles a way if you want a change. if you get chance visit nicosia its the capital and the boarder is there to the turkish side. theres a glass bottom boat which does a trip twice a day from just in front of the sunrise hotel, it takes you to the outskirts of famagusta and back again. hope have agreat time.

I presume you will be flying into Larnaca airport? It's the closest to Protaras but best to make sure you are definitely flying into the east of the island if you have to make your own way to your hotel.

Just looking outside now and we've been having some very heavy dark cloud rolling down from the mountains, so looks like Limassol may be in for some rain very soon. As a rule, October is still good for holidays but I wouldn't be brave enough to try the pool at that time of year - got caught out in Turkey one October and that was my lesson learned! The sea will be warmer

I tend to compare taxi transfers with Acropolis taxis (use Google to search for "Acropolis Transport" cyprus - as the link diverts to spam if I try to post it here) They show fixed rates and these are dependent on the time your flight arrives. It's a good place to start so you can see what other companies are offering.

Taxis will be more expensive to pick up at the airport so you are probably better to pre-book. I did see someone advertising on eBay a couple of weeks ago too - but now I don't see the classified ad so perhaps someone got it removed

Search around and I would also suggest asking on the Cyprus Eastern Forum too as some ex-pats may be able to point you in the right direction.
