We're due to fly out a week today for a two week stay at the Dusit Thani Resort in Pattaya. We're booked through Netflights which is now part of the Thomas Cook group.
Since the 20th May they have been allowing all customers booked to depart up till the 31st May going to Pattaya among other named destinations in Thailand the option of cancelling with a full refund. This means that anyone leaving on 31st May has had 11 days to find another holiday. Any calls to Netflights are simply stonewalled, and no hint is given as to when they may change the cut off time past 31st May. This meand that in our case any chance of organising a holiday change is slight indeed
Over the years we've used Netflights and have had no problems but since falling under the Thomas Cook banner its become hopeless. Any calls to any of Netflights numbers ( all 0845) result in lengthy waits, previosly their phones were answered promptly.
We're now in the position of logging on to the web sites each day to get the same message after 31st May, wait and see. By tommorow, even if given the chance of a refund, it's left no time to find anything else, but it seems that apart from waiting, there's nothing else we can do

sorry to hear that. its so disappointing when you lose the chance of a holiday. We may be in the same position in July, as I'm not too sure that there won't be more troubles. Are you meant to be flying directly to Pattaya? Are you absolutely not going?
Alan
no its not good.

I will say that i'm surprised they are allowing cancellations to holidays to Pattaya as it exceeds the Foreign Office Advice (who are only advising against travel to Bangkok and Chiang Mai).
If Thomas Cook are worried, I wonder why they don't look to rebook you to Dusit Hua Hin or Phuket - i'm sure that they are big enough to negotiate an easy transfer with Dusit hotels (who have offices in the UK).
I wouldn't personally be worried.
