is this definate as we have friends who have booked with direct for the captain silver,and they booked for last year but told by direct a few days before that they were overbooked and had to be allocated somewhere else they were put in the mersoy which they hated, we stayed there last year but staying at the bon jour this august cant wait

Well the onwners have told Rami this and I originally had 20 apartments at the Captain Silver and I now have 26 at the last count so looks like she has dumped them.

As I said maybe they wont tell the people who have booked with them until last minute in case the customers decide to cancel and book elsewhere.

our friends have ust rang me and they are furious,they got onto direct holidays head office 0141 559 7067 and he said was it true that direct had pulled out of captain silver apts and they said yes,he then asked well when were you going to tell us they said they had allocated them somewhwere outside icmeler,he said no way then they asked were would he like to stay the hotel aqua they said no so then he said we will stay at the prince apts then they said will have to see if available.
our friends have given them until this evening to confirm a booking for the prince if not they want there money back.so anyone else booked just check.

i agree i wish more people new about ht.
you could do with advertising BIG somewhere to inform all those numbnuts out there that you exist and are prepared to go out of your way to help people to there advantage and not just your own.(as most travel agents and tour operators consistently do).
i no that i am constantly recomending you to all my family,friends and work mates(lynne recently)lol.

Hello everyone, I was booked for the Captain Silver apts in May through this particular tour operator and it was the Captain Silver apts that informed me that they no longer had the contract with them. Anyway after a few irate phone calls to this particular company they told us we were being placed in the Prince apartments (which have an excellent reputaion) but I somehow get the feeling that we could be placed anywhere. Im furious that this company didnt tell us and when I threatened to cancel my holiday they told me I would lose a £600 deposit!!

This is where ill end my reply as I can feel my blood pressure beginning to rise. Im off to calm down!!

It's not all the fault of the tour operator is it? The owners of Captain Silver cannot be that honourable - have they changed their contract with Direct Holidays thereby causing the problem? I don't know if this is the case, but Mrs Silver has always had a reputation for overbooking. It's a shame because they are excellent apartments and we stayed there in 2003. I believe they were black listed by a certain company in that year too for overbooking!!

I did post the reason why all this was happening and 20 seconds later I decided to change it as I would not like to state the reason why it all came about but I will tell you that it was not the tour operator who cancelled the contract but was the owners of the property and for a very good reason.

The tour operator knew before I did that their contract was cancelled so why did they not tell people that they were not going to that property?

If anyone would like to know why there holiday is cancelled to Captain Silver they can either email direct to the apartments and ask the question or even mail me and I will tell you why it all came about.

at least they had the decency to mail Glasgow girl who was not even booked direct with them

One thing I will say is how can the property owner be the one who overbook when the tour operator who knows exactly how many rooms THEY have in that property.

Just had a call from someone who had seen this topic and they have contacted their tour operator who first said no its not cancelled then when the lady called again they admitted that it was so they were offered the Aquarium at the back of the village so I asked her did they mean the Aqua hotel and she said definitely no it was the Aquarium.

I got my confirmation through today that myself and the rest of my family have been moved to the Prince apartments. Direct Holidays told me that the contract was cancelled on Jan20th but wouldnt elaborate as to why. I was told by captain silver before that!!! Warned DH's head office that there better be no nasty surprises when I get to Icmeler. Why is nothing in life straightforward?

Has anyone stayed here ? Am considering it for 2007 but I ama bit put off by the reports of the miserable owner andquiet bar ,the grounds look beautiful but is this enough for 3kids 13, 9 and 7

Any recommendations for2 bed apartments that can be booked independantly.

There is a pool table at these aparts,and plenty of room for the kids to play.
Reguards the bar,there is quite a large one but if this doesnt suit, you are only a couple of minutes from Icmelers nightlife.

These are super apartments in a quiet location but only 5 mins from the beach and nightlife.
