Palma is a very busy city and therefore parking is very difficult. I would suggest that you get the bus or go on a coach trip that includes Palma. You will find this much easier.
Forget about parking in Palma, full stop.
Don't do it!!!!
We only stayed a couple of hours so don't know how much it would be for the whole day. It was very convenient though.
I would hasten to add that in February it was fairly quiet in Palma - high season would be completely different.

We went to this carpark in late may, it was very busy, but it is massive, go early on in the morning and i don't think you will have any problems can't remember how much it was.
Thanks for the information. Has anyone got any suggestions on parking on the out skirts and getting a bus into palma.
Still on parking. I go to Palma reglarly, and one of the easiest places to park is the gravel car park close to the Trafico HQ. There's usually always space here, and it's free, and then about 20 mins walk to the Cathedral. It's off the motorway as you come into the city from the airport direction; look out for the Diario de Mallorca building to the right and then bear right soon after. Driving in the centre is a pain in the backside, and parking even more so, but this place can be ok.
Thanks thats the sort of car park we are looking for. We will let you know how we get on. We arrive in majorca on 28 July and are staying in sa coma.
If you're coming from Sa Coma you should enter Palma on the right bit of motorway. The turn-off is I think signed "Avenida" (or "Avinguda"); can't remember exactly. Anyway it is just before the traffic lights at the end of the motorway. Keep to the inside lane and you'll be ok. The parking area is big, so you can't miss it. BTW, you might want to tip the old boy who directs cars but otherwise it's free.

We managed to park in palma in an underground car park. Driving in Palma was like driving in any major city in England. It has a good ringroad system just the oppisite side of the road. We enjoyed our day there, it cost us about 5 euros all day. You can pay at the machine or the attendant, who spoke english much to our disappointment we wanted to to try our basic spainish.
I have driven into Palma many times and I agree with the person who said that the car park near the Cathedral is best. That's where I park. There is also a good underground car park further into town near El Corte D'Ingles but it may be more difficult to get in and out of if you dont know your way around Palma
Rarely a problem to find a parking space although you may need to drive round a tad. If you decide to use a meter they are usually free between 2 and 4.30pm and adjust automatically to 'skip' this period. Thus you can arrive at, say 10am and leave at 5pm but will only pay for four and a half hours.
