Ah this is the first time we are going with Siesta (fingers crossed not looking forward to the hub system) as when we actually booked Interbrava weren't doing coaches at all.

I never enjoyed the hub system to be honest, all it takes is one bus to be late and it screws up everybody .... the hub system was the difference between getting home at 6pm or getting home at 1am for us!!!

I'll be sure to give you an update from the resort, i usually sneak online for a bit when the wife is shopping!!

I'll see how Interbrava are with their 'limited' coach service now. I'm sure it will be just as good, but they only do 2 week holidays during peak times now, and i don't want to go to Castell Montgri in peak times as it becomes Castell Ned, so i'm kinda snookered. If i want an early 2 week break next year i'll have to look elsewhere

I have been here twice the first time was with siesta whitsun week 2006, can't fault siesta for travel and accomodation, the second time i went was with club cantabrica last week of july 2007, it was booked a couple of days before we went [ that very wet summer], we got the holiday at a bargain price, i checked with siesta and they had'nt lowered their prices for last minute deals, and although siesta's travel and lodges were far superior to club c's i have to admit that i could'nt fault the club c's reps they were brilliant nothing was too much trouble, where as the previous year our siesta rep was useless, on our last day my friend fell down a manhole whilst walking back from Estartit [ please do not walk on manhole covers in the town a lot are lose], she broke her foot, our siesta rep said "what am i supposed to do about it".
Also with going early season and then high season, the free bus service, we tried it once, they pack as many people as possible on the bus making a very hot and uncomfortable journey, we found it far better to walk.

I've been to Italy and France with Club C, there buses aint as good, neither is there accom, but apart from that i had no issues with them. However, their accom for smaller groups (just the two of us) is pretty woeful at CM, at least in France they had those lovely Diamond lodges for us.

Siesta are the biggest of the companies, and you never really get any bargains with them at the last minute, although years ago when my wife had fixed holidays (last two weeks in July .... nedtastic! ) i used to book last min stuff with them and could usually pick something up. My beef with Siesta wasn't the reps, but when i did go with them i have to say my experience with them wasn't good, they were pretty hopeful ... however, you find that attitude in all companies i guess!

The bus was beyond a joke, everyone had large beach bags, inflatables etc, it was very hot, i had my youngest son on my lap and at least 3 people fell on us as we turned around corners.
A supermarket i used a lot was the first one you come to in the town if you walk in [i also like walking, i can't drive], it was cheaper than the one on camp, more pricey than lidl's but had a really good choice of food
Also i found a cheap shop in the town it's at the end of the main row of tourist shops where they have the ice cream parlours, i found things in there that they were selling in the market but much cheaper than in the market, i also bought a fantastic pair of jeans in there for 5 euros.

the supermarket right next to the big roundabout? Yeah, i like that one too, good choice of booze for bringing home too

Just don't go in with any sort of bag though, they DON'T like it!!!! We'd been away walking one day and i had a small bag with my camera, etc, in it, and they wouldn't let me in without leaving it at the front of the shop. Hmm, yeah, leave my brand new camera .... ok. I gave an internationally recognised gesture and left and did consider boycotting them, but they had marked their litre bottle of Jim Beam at a lower price than the 70CL one, so i just had to take advantage of their stupidity!

I do like that supermarket, the booze is cheap.

Many a time we went in for shopping and my hubby/father, just grabbed a small cold one for the road

Have to admit i'm getting pretty excited now.

As for the bus I think i've used it maybe twice and its CRAZY.

here with some more questions i am arriving in girona at 9.40 can anyone tell me if there is anywere to get water and stuff for the morning as were taking 3 kids or are the shops opened realy early thanks

Don't know much about Girona, but you'll find shops open early, just as early as over here (some even earlier as they shut for Siesta in the afternoon)

All the mobiles on Castell Montgri are pretty much excellent to be honest, the Thomson ones are no exception

You can certainly go to the campsite supermarket if you want something, or you may want to pop out to the LIDL (5 mins from campsite entrance) to stock up

I like it, but then i'd only go in the off-season, never during the high season (when are you going?)

Like everything, i've seen a change .... i wouldn't be too negative about the actual site itself, other than i think it is generally too expensive now. The main issue isn't actually the campsite, it's the drop in parenting standards and the sad amount of pondlife that make the trek there from the UK!!

It's bliss in May or late September, but i personally wouldn't go near it in high season, but that's purely my opinion
