i felt complled to tell you about C. Bay. we stayed in what was a shabby Caravan at the end of Aug this year. Putting that aside, the weather was with us so we made the most of the beach each morning. We were there for the bank hol BUT we had a fantastic time. it was relaxing and the amenities were OK. We would recommend it to friends but we didnt use the bar and we travelled about a lot so used the caravan as a base.
So, all in all, and I am fussy, we really enjoyed it at Challoborough Bay and would go back. Have a great time and enjoy..hope the weather is good for you....D & A

We stayed at Challaborough during October half term week about 3 years ago. There was entertainment on each evening for the the kid's and adults which we found good but the club can get pretty packed out. There is a shop on site if you need to get the odd bits a pieces. We had a really lovely week when we went, we stayed in a chalet which I have to say had seen better days but we made the most of it and the weather was very kind to us, hope it is to you too. It is a very pretty place especially the walk along to Bigbury on Sea.
Enjoy
Thank you for your review I was getting a bit worried but I think i'm over that now I have read your review.
Thanks again

We stayed here in Oct week for 4 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed it, the evning entertainment some nights were great and others a bit shoddy but the drinks weren't that expensive to be honest. The kids had a whale of a time there expecially the caravan experience. We were really lucky with the weather it was very warm (t-shirt weather). The swimming pool there was great for the kids although it looked a little mucky but I presumed it was sand mainly!
The caravan we stayed in was the "Heron" nice spacious 2 bedroomed mobile home with full central heating which was fab for those cold nights.
There were some parts of the caravan that didnt look like they'd been cleaned for months for instance around the fire place and found a couple of filthy cups in the cupboard, but we didnt let this put us off as we'd travelled 8hrs to get here! The shower was great a lovely power shower with plenty of space to turn around in.
I would say get yourself a GPS or borrow one to get there as the country lanes can get you lost and they are very narrow down to the caravan park, it saved us a lot of arguing
All in all a fab time was had by all.

Hi, this is not a reply to a review left here but a new one. After reading reviews we decided to book a weeks stay at Challoborough Bay, Parkdean. Returned last weekend, July 2012. My god!! Are you serious. All I can say is that anyone who has left a good review of this place must be easily pleased. 4 star resort??!! No way. The place is run down and dirty. It's more of a small settlement of surfers and old folk than a holiday Park. Don't get me wrong the locals and staff are seriously nice friendly people but the resort is a joke. Like us you will only end up using this place as a base as you visit places around you. The shop on site shuts at 6pm, the arcade building consists of about 15 machines and a small ball pit. The chip shop turns out good food just don't watch them cook it as hygiene not to a good standard. The club house is like something from the 70`s. The seafront restaurant on the other hand was excellent, newish and food and staff were great. The bay was nice and scenic although small and not the sort of beach you would spend the day on with the kids. I have never written a review for any of our many holidays but this place really let us down. Will never return even to use as a base and will be much happier booking our Haven Sun newspaper holiday to yarmouth. Please read up before going here and don't be fooled by any pictures.
