Changed airline?

I picked our tickets up this morning from Thomson and the flight has been changed to the Thomas Cook flight on the same day.
We are now departing at 6am

instead of 14.55pm.
I hate these early flights as we have to leave home at 2am.
The agent said the airport had cancelled the flight not Thomson,which I find hard to believe.
I was looking forward to the Thomson flight as the plane scheduled has more leg room than the cattle class Thomas Cook use.

Darren, Do you know if this is true or is the flight overbooked and they have bumped us on to the TC flight.

Thomson flight was TOM 434 -TOM 435. Now TCX 814K - TCX 6013L

I find that difficult to believe too and suspect they've made that up. Airports don't cancel flights. I can't comment on bookings.

TCX use a Boeing 757-200 on the NCL-MIR so you'll have a little less knee-room. Seat pitch is the same though.

Thanks Darren,I phoned Newcastle airport and they said only the airline can cancel the flight.
I was looking forward to the flight with Thomson but I suppose I will have to grin and bear it on TC.
I just hate leaving home at 2am :yikes

At least the flight is still from our local airport,at the moment. :rofl

I'd much sooner go on an early flight, even if I have to get up at a ridiculous hour. I think it's nice to be on the beach or in the bar in the afternoon. Also the early flights are usually on time, later flights are often delayed.

I hate early flights as leaving home at 2am means we arrive shattered.
I also like returning on a night flight as you get to spend the last day in resort and these flights are usually quieter.
I dont drink so the bar doesnt bother me and I would not have booked the holiday if the original Thomson flight was departing at 6am.
