Im taking a break from packing all though I need to go out the house in 25 minutes for a spot or Bingo (yes I am cool lol)
I know we still have the issue with the colours of the icons, this is to fix a different issue lol
I'll be on that one when I get back.
Cheers, Phil

HI Helen,
It should be here http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/forum/ right at the top just below the forum login/logout buttons?

Phil - all I've got is this - View unanswered posts | View active topics and those buttons have always been there
Found it Phil
No worries Helen, I was beginning to wonder if I did it right lol
i just dont get this!
what is the point in seeing 4 out of 10 posts welcoming me to HT -ie the mods marking post.
this seems to be a change that was asked for ages ago, but now we have got used to the site it does seem to be a bit of tinkering for the sake of it.

Thanks for your support Jim!
I left the house before any welcome to posts were showing. I'll fix it when I get home.

Isn't it easier to encourage people to use the 'view new posts' buttons?
In fact I don't understand any of this thread! The first post by Fiona doesn't make any sense - what has Phil supposedly packing or going out to play bingo got to do with anything? What exactly is supposed to be showing under the login button?
Denny I posted in forum announcements amount it, if you read there it will make sense
As everyone keeps saying posts are down so with new posts being in people's face it might help. Also this helps with SEO on the site.
Ive been using it this afternoon and it's great! I'm away from tomorrow so when I get back I can see if it's been useful or not.

I quite like the "snapshot" of the latest 10 posts , I don't usually look at view new posts , I just look over the forums I usually read or post in if I'm just in here for a quick breeze
Hi Andy,
Im the same. I've been a boy responsive this afternoon as the latest posts are right there! Lol

I've always used the "view new posts" button, it's just obvious then, where posts have been made since I last looked.
I know for some people they would have adjusted to
That button and some haven't. I'll keep it like that whilst I'm away and can catch up with you guys when I get back see if you liked it or not.
Personally if you don't like it you don't have to use it

My honest opinion.
Put it back to what it was before, the page is quite long as it is without another 10 ‘recent posts’ cluttering up the main index page of the forums before I start to scroll down to the actual forums.
Members should be encouraged to use the ‘view new posts button’ - and that’s coming from someone who didn’t use this button for years….many years.
Nope, sorry Phil I don’t like it, I think what most of us want is different coloured markers or at least something better than what we have now, so that we can easily distinguish between the various posts, such as read post, new post blah blah blah.
They all look the same and I have difficulty figuring out which is which....is it really difficult to change the colour (HTML) code on the markers, or better still, could you not just add in the code of the old markers from HT and give us back the old markers, which nobody seemed to have any problem with.?

I'm out at the moment so please accept my apologies for the short reply.
The icons are something Chris and I are still sorting, waiting for the designer to come back with the graphic. As mentioned this isn't being done in place of changing the markers.
Cheers, phil

I do think that folks who haven't used the "view new posts" feature might see the benefit if they see the posts on the main page. So its worth keeping there till Phil gets back.
