The Medinat Alzarha (sound and light show) is absolutely fantastic but when I went a couple of years ago it was difficult to get to unless you went through your rep, as most taxi drivers didn't seem to know it, even though it was advertised on the side of the 'noddy trains'. You start with an outdoor display of horsemanship etc. then go into the building for a meal. There is a stage at both ends of the room and entertainment takes place throughout. After the meal you go outside and sit on stone seats (mats provided) and watch the show, taking you back through centuries of Tunisian history. If going independently make sure you choose an 'English' night, as some evenings are in other languages. It is a couple of years since I went and the Tunisians may have got themselves organised better now, but I went with Tunisian friends and getting there involved a taxi followed by a louage, though coming back the louage picked us up and brought us right back to Sousse.
