Wanted a week's cheap skiing for someone travelling on their own from the north of England (so no ski coach suggestions please)
Must have slopes for unconfident intermediate who doesn't care what the other facilities are like.
Have you heard of Cold Fusion Chalets? It's a new company that i'm launching this winter in Chamonix, France, primarily for people travelling on their own. We offer a traditional, chalet holiday with the opportunity to meet and go skiing/riding with likeminded people.
Our policy is 'no families, no couples'.
Chamonix's excellent for intermediates, even unconfident ones! To get to Chamonix, you need to fly in to Geneva and you can pick up some really cheap flights at the moment on the no-frills airlines from the majority of UK airports.
If you are interested, please visit http://www.coldfusionchalets.co.uk.
We offer shorter breaks too of you are limited by time or financially.
Hope to see you in Chamonix!!
If like me you are on a tighter budget Bulgaria is fantastic. I went this year for the first time to Pamporovo, Balkan holidays are the cheapest & they do lots of regional departures. The aircraft was fine, they use their own & was slightly dubious! the resort is great as it has loads of pine trees that make it really pretty. The tuition is some of the best in Europe, having never skiied before by the end of the week we were doing some very advanced runs. and you make loads of friends in the ski school that you end up meeting at night for a few drinks!
I stayed at the Hotel Zora and there were a a few by themselves, the hotel bedrooms seemed newly refurbished & came with a mini bar if you didn't want to go out for a drink. The food was fine, the Murgavets (which has a casino!), Rozen (2*) & Prespa 3* which was newly refurbished about a yr & a half ago & the staff have got a reputation for being very friendly, have slightly better locations ie nearer all the bars but we just used to get a taxi back to the hotel. overall this holiday was so much better than expected.
I can't wait to go skiing again & will always go to Pamporovo as Borovets is rather seedy & the runs are not well linked & Bansko is more expensive.
If you have any further questions just let me know you will love it!
