Im always on the look out for cheap deals :) My advice is wait until a couple of weeks before, if not a week, then phone up an internet company from teletext.
Or check on directholidays

Where are all the good late deals these days?

I booked about 4 weeks before we are due to depart, we booked flight only.

As i am a nosey person i keep checking holiday websites for packaged holidays and flights, and they keep coming up at around 450-500pounds per person for 2 weeks, departing in around 3 weeks.
That is the typical cost for booking months in advance.
I would have thought that prices would start to come down now.

Just booked 2 weeks at Cidade de Goa Hotel including flights £580 per person.
Brochure price was coming in at over £900 so looks like quite a good deal!
Will use hotel as a base and do some travelling around.....Down South and also try inland at Wildernest Resort. Good luck, hope you bag yourself a bargain

Hi. I've been a lurker on this forum for two years. Just got enough confidence to respond to this post. Been to Goa twice now and have fallen in love with the place. Managed to get a real bargain for the school easter hols (april 5th) for two weeks for £765 for two of us. Booked with Direct Holidays staying in the Village Royale. Reviews seem OK and at the end of the day, if it is really grim we can always find somewhere else while we are over there. Gave us £400!!! discount on that date! Amazing. Checked for dates in January for person looking on here and the cheapest I found was for 19th Jan, £792 for 2 weeks for 2 people. Is this any good? Happy New Year to you all.

Thankyou Colleen. Yes, I work in a school, so I have to take my holidays during the school holidays. This means that We've only experienced Goa during the easter holidays. Goa's not up and running during october half term and my hubby won't go away from the family at Xmas. I've never been much of a beach person but I love the beach life in Goa. Just lazing on the beach, reading a good book, having a drink or something to eat without having to worry about whether we can afford it! It's lovely and we've met such lovely people while we've been there. Wish we could go there more often!! Jayne :)

I checked over at India Mike to see what the story is about flights and popularity.

Seems like one of the tour operators had been cancelling a lot of flights to Goa due to bad Press and the general state of tourism in Goa at present.

Apparantly a Monarch flight arrived in Dec with approx 30-40 people on board!

Seems like the bubble has burst. I'll be looking to see if anything cheap comes up so I'll post any info'.

Do package holidays and flights change daily? or Weekly?

Last year i booked a flight only with directholidays for around 290pounds per person, and that was booked about 6 weeks in advance.
I have finally bitten the bullet and booked our flights, which i booked 4 weeks in advance, and they are still coming up at about 100pounds each more expensive than last year

Irishcolleen - wish i could have another Goa holiday this season, got one booked, we depart in 3 weeks time.
I soo want to go back around March/April as well :(

No i havent won the lottery :( , and with the prices this yeari doubt i will be able to find a cheapy for end of season, so im only going to have one fix of Goa this year, in 21 days time :D

We could pay Jill a couple of pounds each to let us go in her cases

whats the going rate for the 2 weeks over xmas usually. Any where ive looked at present is £1000+ per person. Is this the norm ? Been twice before but both times have been March/April. Wouldnt mind going over xmas for a change. Just spent the last 2 weeks off work either in the pub or looking out at the rain/snow. Oh how i crave the sun :smokin
