hi long time since i was on here so a bit rusty
has anyone seen any cheap trips for 2008 i would like to squeeze a couple or three weeks in before the season finishes
thanks
derek
Im always on the look out for cheap deals My advice is wait until a couple of weeks before, if not a week, then phone up an internet company from teletext.
Sorry Derek but the best deal of 2008 has gone polly50 and I got it 2 weeks over easter for £279..and to top it up its over St Patricks day as well ...guess who's a happy bunny ...I will keep my fingers crossed you find a good deal too ..colleen...
Doesnt it bother you that youre sleeping on the beach for 14 days tho Irishcolleen
We will be fine with the dogs Gemma.
As long as theyre not up to the same as the ones at Baga Beach in November
i hope they managed to catch the dog on baga beach that had a horrible injury on its shoulder, one or two english people were trying to help...water food etc, etc, saw two uniformed dog catchers try to get it,but the dog was to smart for them. i hope it got some attension as the wound was infected
and had maggots in it ....Gavin
I booked about 4 weeks before we are due to depart, we booked flight only.
As i am a nosey person i keep checking holiday websites for packaged holidays and flights, and they keep coming up at around 450-500pounds per person for 2 weeks, departing in around 3 weeks.
That is the typical cost for booking months in advance.
I would have thought that prices would start to come down now.
Brochure price was coming in at over £900 so looks like quite a good deal!
Will use hotel as a base and do some travelling around.....Down South and also try inland at Wildernest Resort. Good luck, hope you bag yourself a bargain
Gavin I dont think a day has passed since we come home from goa that I dont think about the poor dog we seen in Delhi ..the maggots and worms were all over a few cuts it had all over its body ..in the uk you would have to put the poor wee critter down .......sorry I know this is O/T .....colleen

Welcome to the forum jaynieb what is it about Goa that makes us all go again and agian ...can you only go in the school holidays jay.... we are off in march and like yourself cant wait ........colleen
Thankyou Colleen. Yes, I work in a school, so I have to take my holidays during the school holidays. This means that We've only experienced Goa during the easter holidays. Goa's not up and running during october half term and my hubby won't go away from the family at Xmas. I've never been much of a beach person but I love the beach life in Goa. Just lazing on the beach, reading a good book, having a drink or something to eat without having to worry about whether we can afford it! It's lovely and we've met such lovely people while we've been there. Wish we could go there more often!! Jayne
Seems like one of the tour operators had been cancelling a lot of flights to Goa due to bad Press and the general state of tourism in Goa at present.
Apparantly a Monarch flight arrived in Dec with approx 30-40 people on board!
Seems like the bubble has burst. I'll be looking to see if anything cheap comes up so I'll post any info'.
please...let me know .... :fly.....colleen
For anyone who would like a wee cheapy over easter ...Direct holidays have 2 weeks in Calangute at the village royale for £666 for two people thats just over 300 each..going on the 15th of march from LGW ......if anyone is lucky enough to get it Last year i booked a flight only with directholidays for around 290pounds per person, and that was booked about 6 weeks in advance.
I have finally bitten the bullet and booked our flights, which i booked 4 weeks in advance, and they are still coming up at about 100pounds each more expensive than last year
Irishcolleen - wish i could have another Goa holiday this season, got one booked, we depart in 3 weeks time.
I soo want to go back around March/April as well
Have you won the lotto Nicola .and if you have rem your wee friend irishcolleen I know kid I want to go now as well Jill is off in the next day or 2 i would give anything to be in her case ....colleen
No i havent won the lottery , and with the prices this yeari doubt i will be able to find a cheapy for end of season, so im only going to have one fix of Goa this year, in 21 days time
whats the going rate for the 2 weeks over xmas usually. Any where ive looked at present is £1000+ per person. Is this the norm ? Been twice before but both times have been March/April. Wouldnt mind going over xmas for a change. Just spent the last 2 weeks off work either in the pub or looking out at the rain/snow. Oh how i crave the sun
colleen thats a fantastic price -is it an allocation on arrival or do you know where you're going.also who have you booked with?
