Every year children from the local school are chosen to be angels, and are hung on the wall of the church.

By the neck or by the thumbs!!!

Hi, were comming back again as we loved it so much the first time.this time for 3 weeks.
We are staying near Teguise and have been told about a festival on Christmas eve, can anyone give us some details.

Also as Christmas is on Sunday will the market in Teguise still be on or will we have to wait for the next week.

Thanks

We are off to Lanzarote Gardens in Costa Teguise for the third time this Xmas. If any of you are thinking of visiting Lanzarote this year for Xmas or any other time of year and you have kids this place is defiantly for you.

The hotel provides lots of entertainment and kids clubs to keep the kids and the big kids entertained. On Christmas day Father Christmas comes on his Camel and gives the children presents.

The hotel is only 2 min away from the main beach in Costa Teguise and is surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants so it's in an excellent location.

Only 5 weeks to go and I am already counting the days down

We (husband and I) are thinking of escaping the festivities and spending a week in Lanzarote, preferably Playa Blanca, looking for an apartment or villa. Has anyone been there for Xmas before, and are bars/restaurants etc open? We know Costa Teguise well but not Playa Blanca, have visited and fancy staying there for a change. Any help gratefully received.

Anyone been at that time of year, ? whats open? shops, resturants etc... on christmas day.

Any recommendations on where to stay or who to book with, I have been to PDC b4 and stayed in the Atalaya Apts which were lovely, but some where different would be nice, but like to go to places that have been recommended.

Thanks

Hi Steph,

Me and my family spent Christmas And New Year just gone in PC, and have already booked again for this year although we are flying out on xmas day this year which will seem very strange im sure.

We stayed at the cinco plaza apartments which where lovely.

Everything bar, restaurants etc are open on Christmas day. The only days when places may close is news years day although the majority of the places where still open. Also some places closed early on Christmas Eve but again these places where in the minority.

The weather at this time of year was surprisingly nice, for what i was expecting. For the two weeks we where in Lanzarote, there was only one day of rain which was the day we arrived and one cloudy day with the rest of the time being sunny. You will need a jacket at night mind.

New Years Eve is absolutely brilliant great atmosphere, everyone dancing in the street with a live band.

Anything else you would like to know, just ask.

We have spent New Year in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, weather wise Gran Canaria is milder with less wind, you may still get a little rain in either but temperatures are a little higher in Gran Canaria so if I was choosing a resort based on weather I would choose Gran Canaria.
Hope this helps.
