just few comments on toilet facilities.
when in the bars and restaurants it costs you 50 stinkies to use the toilets.
Some of them only have 1 toilet for the whole place.
Some of them are kept realy clean, ( dont mind paying 50 stinkies for those ones )
But alot of them are in a very poor state, yet they expect you to pay to use them.
50 stinkies is not much, but your buying your food and drink from them, then they expect you to pay to use there toilet,
They sit there with there bowl guarding the toilet, and they wont let you into it untill you pay for it,
I sympathise, especially in regard to the poor hygiene in some of the toilets; the only thing I can say in their defence is that the little old lady (or whoever) who cleans them doesn't get paid, but relies on your 50 stotinki for her "wages". [At least that w it used to be everywhere, and I suspect few places will have changed their practices]
the ones with the little old ladies i dont mind, they keep the toilet clean, its the ones where there is a woman or guy sittting, when you use them then flush it and the water is coming out the bottom of the pan i object to paying for.
I know what you mean. Still, at least they've moved away from the "hole in the ground" type
Still, at least they've moved away from the "hole in the ground" type
That may be so in the resorts, but not always the case in other parts of Bulgaria.......
I just LOVED how you called the coins -- stinkies -- thats so funny
Actually the right word for our coins is "stotinki":)but tourists pronounce it very funny and strange...but it is normal, the world is a little bit harder for pronounciatin. And what about the names of the hotels?oh,i have heard such a funny pronounciation of some of the names like "Svejest","Kokiche","Tundja"...but these are typical bulgarian names that's why they are difficult for the others...
an being pronounced as if it was Cuban, whats left for the more complicated sounds like Ш, Ж, Ч, Ц, Щ...
Oh, i've even heard the name of hotel Kub
Please keep any further posting "on topic".
