We're flying from Glasgow too but not until the Saturday night the 28th. So if you see a crowd of 4 adults and 5 kids looking shattered on the Sunday, that'll be us! :wave:

Turkey 2010, Marmaris, Club Exelsior

Hi Everyone

Looking around today for holiday for next year, as depressed not going this year :cry

Have always went to mainland spain but heard a lot of good reports on Turkey and what with the euro the way it is thought we would try here instead.
I have a good price - 1792 - for 2 adults 2 kids staying at the above for 2 weeks in August. Think this is a very good price, was just wondering if anyone has been to this hotel and and what did they think and is this part of Turkey ok for kids. They will be 9 & 4 when were travelling.

Thanks, will have a look through these now. Havent booked anything yet, got the price online so will ring a few agents on Monday and see if I can get it reduced any. What about Marmaris itself, is it good for familes, we will probably go with a small group so want a bit to do at night for the adults as well.

After reading though the topic, can anyone tell me how long it is from the beach as in walking distance. Looked at the map and it seems very far out. We don't mind walking but don't fancy having to get a taxi to anywhere we want to go.

hi jo-jo,

it will take about 10-15mins to get to the beach from there, although its a bit hot to walk down during the day.

if you walk up the rd to the crossroads, you can catch a dolmus down to the front, and its a 2 min walk to the beach.

Thanks for that Polly, dont mind the walking would prefer to walk in the heat than get a bus. Another question, sorry, do you know how far it is to the centre eg bars etc or are there bars around the apartments.

Sorry for so many questions but want to be sure before we go ahead and book.

Club Excelsior - Marmaris

Hi we have decided to book the Club Excelsior for July 2010. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the main Club Excelsior and the Annexe. I have read fab reviews on these apartments but the few not so good ones have been complaining about the rooms in the annexe. :que

Basically just want to know which part is best to book.

Stayed in both past 2 years.Annexe is just across the road, we were on the top floor and the only bad thing was climbing 90 stairs to get to our room .We are looking to go back next year what kind of prices are you getting for next year?

I've been getting prices around £1300 for myself and my two kids or if I decide to take my mum it works out £1700!!! That's on Thomas Cook Website. Not sure if these are good prices or not :que

Also wanted to check, I'm a bit apprehensive about going on my own with my kids, do you think it will be safe enough? We love Turkey and don't really want to stop going :cheers

Excelsior is great for kids, plenty to do with the kids clubs day and night.Big pool has a slide and the kiddies pool is excellent.Are your prices for the Club , Annexe or Club jnr? You should be safe enough, been going to Marmaris for 14 years and wouldnt go antwhere else.
