Going in 3 weeks, can send you photos after if you like...
Will be staying for the 6th time overall, would recommend it for all people of all ages. Loads to do for everyone, also qukite cheap.
Clube Praia d Oura is a lot cheaper if you book a package with a tour operator than booking with the site direct. I think it runs out quite expensive if you book with them & then have to book flights yourself. I went into the site for May for a studio for 2 and they wanted £560 for 7 nights & then your flights on top of that, a bit OTT to me. That was at the Oura Beach resort and using facilities within the Clube. All in all a lovely resort with lots of excellent facilities. Cheers Jayjan
I havent actually stayed there myself but I have stayed in the general area and what I love about the complex is the location. Right on the beach and at the end of the strip in Montechoro and on a good night about a 25 minute walk into Albufeira or short taxi ride. Have a wonderful holiday.
thanks everyone for all your help. a few phots would be great chrisbeckett2004 when you get back
Complex is very good. At the bottom of a very steep hill, but if you go in the lift that takes you to the top floor, you will find a way out from there that saves you walking up the hill..... My friend only found this out on her last day!
When i return on 17th April, i will check my PM box for any requests for photos. Siobhan has already asked, if popular i may post on my web server.
Hope you have a fantastic holiday there and look forward to reading your comments when you get back.
We are going to CPO mid May. I believe there is refurbishment going on there at the moment. Does anyone know whether this will be completed soon It will be our Silver Wedding when we are there and have requested a nice view. I know I dont have much choice in where they put us, but which 'block' do you think is the best one in which to stay.
It is your lucky day! I am sitting in CPO reception now. The work that is being done is on the K Block, and is barely noticable. We are staying in C Block which overlooks reception. I would recommend D or E block, as this overlooks the sea. Have a great holiday.
Thank you very much for that.
I am staying at Clube Praia da Oura in July and i have booked to stay in a studio apartment, i was wondering if anyone knew what the beds were like? Are they pull out ones or do all studio apartments vary?
I am staying at this hotel as well in July. Any one know what the studios are like? I have read that the beds are pull out ones too.
I'm sure if you ask your travel agent or call the hotel direct they will be able to tell you.

Thanks for that. I have called First Choice but they weren't really helpful, they just said they should be single. I have also e-mailed the hotel but they haven't got back to me now. I am not too bothered about them being pull out ones, i just hope there is enough room to keep them down!
Hi we returned from clube praia de oura on sat 29th april. we were located in K block which is a new annexe of the Praia oura. Apartment looked brand new, also immaculate with two single beds. the studio was quite big and had every bit of (brand new) kitchen utensil you can imagine. Very very impressed and would definitely return again.
The units in the terrace we were staying are currently being refurbished, ours was not one of the refurbished ones but was OK - tired rather than scruffy. Maid service was excellent. Plenty clean towels on request, but no bedlinen change (not really necessary for one week in April).
CPO is a lovely, well maintained resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. This was our first experience of Portugal and we will definitely be going back.
Firstly I wondered is there was any time difference in Portugal. Also the check in time for Clube Praia da Oura is 5pm, we land at 8am so does anyone know whether we can go straight into our room or if we have to wait till 5.
Check in time should depend on how many nights your accommodation is for. If they class midnight of the day you are arriving as your first night then the room will be ready for you at 8am. However, if your arrival evening is your first night then you may have to wait. The wait will depend on how full the hotel is.
No time difference this time of year. We were at CPO 9 years ago and we had a 4 hour wait to get into our room (it was worth it though as we had a huge apt looking directly onto the beach ).
It can be earlier than 5pm depending on how busy they are or how lucky you are When the room is cleaned and ready they will let you know asap.
Take a tip and keep some pool things at the top of your case. We did and got changed and had a few good hours at the pool then a walk on the beach. Lunch and a few drinks can pass time also. Dont hang around as its a waste of a day and you wont get into your room any quicker. Lots of people camped out in reception and they were just getting more frustrated by the minute whereas we had started our holiday and took in some sun and food and drinks(of course ).
Have fun

We seem to have had several threads running about Club Praia da Oura and so I have merged them all into this 2 page topic, in the hope that it will make all information more easily available.
