Hi there

We are looking at maybe going to Club Sun City next October. Please can you post some more information ie. hotel, rooms, food, pool, location, shops and restaurants etc so that I can make a decision. Its always nice to hear things first hand from people who have been before.

Hi
We have booked a family suit at Club sun city for August 05. Really excited and would love to hear more about it. Has anybody seen the family suits here? Are they much bigger than the family rooms?
We stayed at club pacific in Side this August, which was fab, but looking forward to seeing another part of Turkey. :D

I am also looking at this property for next October.

I have found it in First Choice and Thomas Cook to date and the cost seems to vary quit a lot.

FC have quoted me £2300 for a family of 4 in a Family Room for 2 weeks leaving from Newcastle and TC came in at around £1800 for the same thing!!!

The TC brochure seems to show it as 3*plus and FC as a 4* although from reorts I have read it is more like a 5* complex.

Hi Alan

I have had prices from Thomas Cook TV (I have used them for the last 2 years to Turkey) for both 14th and 17th October for the day and night flights. There are also 4 of us. Cheapest price was £1599 and dearest was £1734 (these were both for the 17th, 14th was £1656 and £1704 - cheapest option obviously being the night flight). They are giving free insurance and doing low deposit of £100 per booking. This is quite good but downside of booking now is that remaining deposit is required by end of November and having only just returned from Gumbet and with Christmas looming cannot afford to do this. So I am hanging in to see if they do a nil deposit which means that you have nothing to pay immediately and the rest is due by end of January -ish. Prices do fluctuate as well as before I went to Gumbet I got a price of £1500 for Sun City next october!!!!.

I will do the ususal trick and keep ringing them up every other day to keep an eye on the prices and also I bartar between them and the other travel company on sky(TV travelshop I think).

Let me know if you find a bargain.

Cheers

Thanks fir the info.

I've looked @ TC_TV too and TV Travelshop etc etc on SKY.

I see from the bookings I am attempting to make that all Family Rooms are now unavailable (@this morning anyway!!) and it is Twin Rooms for 3 that are left on Thomas Cook (9 are left now)
I am awaiting my eldest daughter and son to make up there mind if they want to travel with my wife and I and our youngest son before I can commit to a booking.

Regards

ALan

Hi Jo
We booked through Thomas Cook and paid just over £2 400 for 4 of us for a family suite for 2 weeks in August. We got civilized daytime flights aswell. It was the last family suite left for that week and the 2 weeks prior to that were all booked up. Quotes from other TO's ( including Tulip ) came in at over £3 000 !! Just got to start saving now and get through 9 months work.

Well for all those people who want to know what it is like...

Lovley grounds full of gardens wel maintained, buildings are all turkish style as you can see in photographs, reception is nice and has one computer for internet access, when i was there, there was massif ques with teenagers using msn. The pool is basic but what do you expect. sun beds all around but got ridiculous as there wernt enough for all the people there. We had to get up at 5 in the morning to put towels on to reserve them even though there was an 8 o'clock restriction everyone ignored it. there is a pool bar where you can sit at. snack bar where there is chips, burgers, spagetti and p-day (turkish pizza) and ice cream available most of the day. Next to all this was a mini club grassed area where there was a small playground with swings etc and 10-12 the 2-6 staff were there to hold colouring competions and games etc. During the day there was pool activities held by the entetainment team. This included aqua aerobics, pool games for kids and adults, water polo for kids and adults and at the end of each activity there was a 'pool dance' which was fun everyone joined in and danced with actions around the pool. Kill Bill was a great pal and game round the pool advertising turkish baths and massages. On site there was also giant chess, small gym, saunas etc and a freezing cold indoor swimming pool which was refreshing. The room we were in was an ajoining family room which consists of two beds and a sofa which turned into a bed with a balcong and bathroom (each room). The rooms were kept spotless. There are 12 blocks of rooms, each have around 12 rooms. Sun City is just around the corner from the town of Olu Deniz 30 second walk. The Oluu Deniz beach is nice but nowhere to go for shade. We went to the hotels private beach on a mini bus which went 3 times a day. The private beach isnt that sandy, more grassy in the lagoon where sunbeds are available. Drinks provided on teh beach (non-alcholic). Sorry i havent seen the family suite but im sure it will be nice. The resurant is brill but not if your a picky eater. There is a wide range like chips to turkish 'stuff' but dont expect sheperds pie. At night most people go to the api-theatre and terrace bar. Where usually tehre is night entertainment like music quiz', dancers, magicians and on teh last night russian water ballet in the pool, was excellent. Everynight there was a kids disco in the ampitheatre. Same dances everynight but was fun. when you there you must go on a cruise around surrounding islands, paraglyding (if you dare), fethiye market, into town, safari, mountain biking. Were going back next august. Can't wait! Il try find some nice pictures and if you have anymore questions just ask. Hope it helps

Here are some pictures i found on the website as i cannot post my own for some reason

Here is the terrace bar ontop, pool at the bottom and part of the resturant on the far right.
Edit due to copyright issues we have decided to delete the copied photo's however please feel free to post a link to them Briar

Hi there

WOW excellent info and pictures. Thanks a lot. If you find you can can you send anymore pictures to me - would be great. Also did you go in August. Do you think it will be the same with the sunbeds in October or no problem?? What was the kids club like. We have never been anywhere with one before. Do they take the kids off your hands or do you stay with them while they are there. Did the kids enjoy it? Thanks for your help.

Alan - we went to TC on the high street yesterday and got quoted for a family room cheapest was night flight on 17th at £1610. When I got home we bartared with TV travel shop and got £1545 and then with TC TV and got £1525. This includes insurance but we said not to inflight meals seeing as it is the night flight and we can eat prior to flying. They definately had availability on the family rooms (these are not the family suites which are much more expensive) and sleep 4. I am just waiting for hubby to give me go ahead to book and we will do it with TCTV. Hope you find what you want.

Bye 4 now

Jo, I will try to pm some of my photos to you over the next few days. I'm not sure about the sunbeds, hopefully they will have got more by next summer. We went in July but it might ve more quieter in October. The kids club was great. It was open from 10-12 then 2-6. The kids could just be left there and had fun most of teh day, they played hoopla and some Turkish games. They loved it. If you didn't want to join in with the activities you could still go and play at the small playground. The staff were great and friendly, spoke good English. When the mini club was closing for the day, depending on the age of teh child the staff would usually go round the pool with teh children to find you and return them. Children went from about the age of 3-10. The club was made up of a colourful cabin like you can see on the photo where they could go for shade. Outside it was a fenced-off, plastic turf style area with a climbing frame place and swings. Mixture of English, Turkish and a few German kids. They did face painting also. Kids enjoyed it. Then for the slightly older kids there was water polo in the pool, pool games (standing on a surfboard and throwing things in nets etc) most days. There was also a small shallow childrens pool for smaller children. You can go on the website to have a look at more pictures; http://www.suncity.com.tr. How old are the children? Hope that helps. :D

Hi mustafaholiday :D
I'm going to the Club Sun City next summer - the more I read about it, the more pleased I am with my decision.
Have a look at their website: http://www.suncity.com.tr/english.html

hi vic - yes we stayed there last year - its a great hotel - great for families - the hotel as mentioned is right in town, so even though your A/I you can still eat and drink out if you please + plenty of shops - Olu deniz is very much a family resort . sun city has its own private beach on the lagoon :D :D . there is plenty going on in olu but it still feels relaxed. stunning scenary. Its a really friendly place :D

if there is anything

Lyn - do you get a safe in your room? Or do you have to leave valuables at reception? I never thought about that when I booked. It's a bit of a faff if you have to keep nipping to reception for your camcorder and credit cards and stuff.
Reply
sorry cyberspacekadette - meant to answer that question yesterday and i got sidetracked   . yes there are safes in your room - we just had to pay a little bit for the key but it wasnt much :D :D

Thanks Lyn - I'm looking forward to it already and we're not even going until next year - got to have this year's holiday yet! Is it really as lovely as it looks on the website?

We are staying at Club Sun City for two weeks in August. Can't wait. :D
We keep reading the reviews and looking at the pictures on the website.
One quick question though.......do they really not provide pool towels?

We stopped at sun city last june it is a good hotel right in the center of the resort. It was the first time we have been all Inc. it took me 3 days to get used to not paying for my beer. (Tasted more like shandy to me) The only complaints I had was the so called private beach (they dont tell you in the brochures that the hotel shares the private beach with some other hotels so it gets very busy.) also was the lack of sunbeds round the pool there were signs all over the hotel saying that towels put on beds before 7.30am would be removed but they never were so if you want a bed round the pool you have to be up early (and they wern't german towels either!) The food was ok got a bit repetative after a week so we ended up going out a couple of night for a chinese. I would give the sun city 8/10
