I would say that you should be fine in October unless of course its school holidays which shouldnt be a problem on the 10th . dont let it worry you too much - after a couple of days you will be in chilled holiday mood . besides didnt someone say that sun city have now stopped you reserving beds before a certain time? if not im sure your soon get in the swing of getting up - you sort off find yourself with a built in alarm clock after a couple of early morning trips.
We are going to the Sun City on 29th September never been there before.
please could you email me when you come back and let me know what it is like there and the facilities they have on offer. Here are some questions that would be very helpful if you could answer for me.
1) What is childrens entertainment like,
2) What is the accommadation like
3) What is the standard of food
4) Distance from airport
5) Beer quality is it in small plastic ups like most all inclusives
6) Is there anything for teenagers 14upwards
7) Is there day and evening entertainment
First I will answer your questions
1. This depends on the ages of your children my son is 8 and the kids club is from 3 to 10 and he wasn't impressed at all, very repetitive , colouring comps, kiddies hoop la, kiddies darts etc
2. Accomodation is clean spotless and there were 3 of us and the room seemed spacious, there was a double bed and a single although they were a little hard, there is a tv in the room although only one english channel bbc world service, we did take a personal dvd player and watched that, maid comes in every day
3.Food is ok quite good if you like salads, and turkish food all good food but a lot of oil used and we only stayed for a week and at the end of the week it was a bit repetative, snack bar not very good hamburger and chips, turkish pizza (everyday in restaurant lunch and dinner too) our complaint was a lot of the time the food was cold, no bar in restaurant only wine kegs (red and white) squash and water although you can bring other drinks over from the bar
4. Its about and hour and a half to 2 hours that was with 3 drop offs and a short stop
5.No efes served here only Turbourg Turkish friends told us that was because it was cheap and like shandy and yes it was served in plastic cups it wasn't when we first arrived but by the end of the week it was also tea and coffee was served in vending cups ( glasses for the beer at night though)
6. 14 year olds The answer to this was no not really only a pool table which was free, tennis courts which weren't finished but will be when you go, a few pool games such as water polo this happens once a day for about 1/2 an hour thats about it not much in town either for this age group
7. Entertainment depends what you like day entertainment as mentioned before water polo, darts, evening same every week, Miss Sun City, Bingo, Turkish Belly Dancer, and kiddies disco kiddies disco aged under 8 starts at 9.30 then adult entertainment 10.00pm for 2 hours all inclusive bar stops at 12 on the dot everything has to be paid for after that.
Other points to add the beach bus wasn't running the whole week we were there, the Turkish Bath advertised as free but that is it the massage, oils and soaping that you normally have at turkish bath is extra for the full package you are talking about 40 pounds which is a total rip off, hairdresser on site all I saw him do was braiding to girls hair costing them 20 pounds (expensive for Turkey), shop expensive nearly 2 pounds for a packet of marlboro lights only 1 pound to 1.50 in Icmeler, for the money we paid 729 for the 3 of us including private transfers it wasn't bad booked direct with med hotels.com but there were a lot of people who had paid a lot more, family of 3 2 adults 1 child of 3 paid 1160 for the same holiday I wouldn't have been impressed.
Snack Bar opens 12 to 5 only Ice Creams from 12 to 5 only
If you want any more info just ask I have taken a few pictures if you want me to emailed them I will.
I would add that the sun beds were adequate compacity about 1/4 to a 1/2 full I would hate to see this in high season. Towels were put on the beds about 830 in the morning, hotel had a lot of dutch and german guests who had booked this resort for Parascending holidays.
This are a few questions I was pm'd I will write more on my report on the hotel Jaytrip is there as I write sorry I missed seeing her it will be interesting to see what she thinks when she returns home
We are staying at Club Sun City for two weeks in August. Wish we didn't have to go in peak season but we don't have a choice. I know it will be full but do you think it will feel very crowded, and will sun beds, queues etc be a problem do you think? We stayed at Club Pacific in Side last August and, although full, it just didn't seem crowded at all. Were you impressed with Club Sun City? I read so many reviews before booking. I am now driving myself mad, fretting over whether we made the right choice.
One last question (for now !!) We have booked a family suite. Did you manage to see one of these, or do you think it's the same as a family room?
Emma - the family room and family suite are i believe different - we had a family "room" for 5 which consisted of a double bed, bunk bed + a bed settee for the yonger child. we had a family "suite" as a late checkout room - this consisted of 2 interconnecting rooms which were much more spacious. We were there end may last year and i would say things were only getting going then - Icmeler girl when we were there , there was a bar in the resturant in a small seperate room just next to where the chef was cooking . was that not open when you were there?
Lyn no this room wasn't open at all whilst we were there, the large room opposite the pool/snack bar was also closed I believe there were arcade machines entertainment in there also and this too was closed as well, I have got to say for a silver 4 star I wasn't that impressed, I have been to Majorca all inclusive and the standard was far higher, the resort itself is very picturesque but very small you can walk/stroll all around it in less than 1/2 an hour thats with looking in the shops as well, also compared to Icmeler its very expensive too an English Breakfast excluding drinks in Olu was 5 pounds compared to 1 pound in Marmaris and say 1.50 in Icmeler.
lyn
Hi Lyn I think these prices are for the season as they have been printed it looks like the prices for this resort are on the way up, the thing that most shocked me was the price of the petrol at over a £1 a litre prices have definately risen in Turkey on some things a bag of crisps in Sun City were just under £1 a bag 2 lira which is high

Has anyone been here recently? Do they have a/c in the bedrooms and whats is your opinion of the hotel. I have found a really good price compared to other AI hotels. If we book, we will be staying there August next year. (have read the reviews on HT)
whould like to ask a few questions if i may..
is the sea safe for children 7+11 to swim or walk out into..
how far away is the water park..
how bad are the mozzies in mid june..
last but not least fishing are there any places to do a spot of fishing or are there any boat fishing trips..
if so what sort of price???
look forward to any info..
thanks
we stayed at the club sun city in July this year and had a really great time - apart from we had to leave our 8 year old behind with chicken pox!
To try and answer a few questions
The main beach shelves in quite quickly and can be quite rough, beach shoes are a must as very shingley, I would suggest the "private Beach" at the lagoon which offers free transfers with this hotel - no waves, like a lake and sandy, also free pedalos
Did not go to the waterpark - did not know there was one?
Mozzies can be a nightmare!!! - take plug ins and lemon spray which they sell at the markets - still got plastered though
Sorry cant comment on fishing but there must be places that do it, someone else might offer advise on this
hope this helps a little
True there is a free beach at the lagoon and you can catch the hotels dolmus twice a day to the beach but that part of the lagoon is very murky, so if you want clear water for snorkelling etc, forget it!
The hotel is very nice and very good value for money. We went the end of May this year and had a lovely time. Enjoy
