Can you tell me what exactly this place is, i have looked on you tube and seen for myself its a night club, but what else is there? Is it worth going to, or a rip off for around a £100 each to go VIP? My hubby thought it was a lot to pay, i cannot stand for two long due to the arthritis in all of my back, but fine if i sit down for some lengths of time.
If its a "must do" in pdc then he would consider it, but if its like Kavos for kids then its not our cup of tea.
Thanks
February 9th roll on
Michelle if you do a search above for Coco Bongo you will find it mentioned in many posts which might help you
We went to the one in Cancun. It was an experience to say the least. If you imagine a film like Pirates of the Carribien then this is projected onto a large screen like the cinema but then actors/dancers appear and play the parts, same thing for the Mask etc. It's difiult to describe actually. There is lots more to it with trapeze artists and the like. I would say it's a worthwhile experience. As I say it was the Cancun one we went to and I didn't see many seats. We also queued for about an hour (not VIP).
Thank you Gentlemen for your replies
If I remember correctly The Mask was filmed in the Cancun Coco Bongo's. Its not £100 each its cheaper than that and an experience not to be missed. Plenty of chairs and in the VIP area and waitress service.
I believe there is also one in Playa Del Carmen also. I haven't actually been myself but many people from our resort did go and had a fab time. i spoke to one couple who were in their lates 60's and they had such a good time the husband wanted to return LOL!
They booked the VIP trip which guaranteed them access without queueing, guaranteed seats and waiter service all night for their drinks.
Thanks guys again, someone stated the tickets are not £100 each, i got this info from TA, so whether they mean dollars or not i don't know. That is for VIP. TBH i don't think £200 for two of us as vip would be that high on the list, its a lot of dosh just for a few hours. We are booked on a lot of trips with a company called "your private tour" on a one to one basis. I have £500 sterling, $756 ($436 for trips to company) and £500 sterling into pesos so around 7,000 (yikes), so we can afford it, but i think its best to make a judgement once we are there. We are all inclusive but as its our silver wedding anniversary, want to do everything at least once, so who knows
Its $60 or $100 for the VIP area. Its worth going and anyway your hotel may have a deal so you can get them even cheaper.
Think we will decide once there, after Brazil i do not know whether i would want to go into a wooden club with only one exit and hundreds of people, that fire brought it home
Hi Derwentrocker ... that crossed my mind too!!
Its not a wooden hut?? Its a proper brick building its only about 4 years old. Plenty of exits!
hi denny, i am talking about the one in playa not cancun, if you are also talking playa then someone is getting facts wrong. I am getting my info from coco bongos on pdc trip advisor, they all virtually say the same, most say fab time, but its small, one exit where you get in, is where you get out ! if we went it would have to be vip, but then you are not forced to have chairs only a table. Prices vary from $60 to $150 to get in. A user said it was a wooden building with only one mans loo and they are unisex. Then they remark on Brazil. I will walk down to this place and see for myself. I know the one in Cancun is supposed to be a lot better.

they show the ticket price at £70 for the VIP one.
I didn't fancy it when we were there in the summer. The hotel did have a ticket office for it but didn't look to see if they had a promotion. Perhaps if I was a teenager or in my twenties it might have been more appealing.
Michelle- if you are looking for something romantic for your anniversary how about seeing if your hotel does dinner on the beach?
Its the one in Playa i'm talking about, it was a new brick building when it opened in 2009 ( i think - it could of been year before). There is def more than one entrance /exit and one right by the VIP area - which people in the VIP area use to go out for a ciggie. On the virtual tour that is Cancun, but I don't remember that being a wooden building either?

Have a look at You tube, lots of videos show the PDC club. It's a huge place...
Did you go when you were there Michelle?
I have been to both, the one in Cancun and playa del Carmen. So much so at one point the bar men knew me and what I drank, without prompt. I would recommend it over anything else for anyone young or old... Anyone not sure or thinking about it...It has to be done once in your lifetime its a must do!
hi, no we didn't go to C.B we went to see inside of it but it wasn't that big. some people we met said it wasn't worth it, whilst some said they watered down the drinks big time. I didn't like the reps plugging it saying it was a Vegas show . Have they not seen a Vegas show? they are the best in the world. I didn't personally think that paying a lot of money for a mimed show was worth it. plus in the back of our minds was the fact only a couple of fire escapes were on show. That being said, If you got cheap tickets, and I mean cheap then it maybe would be worth it, If you are not concerned about fire escapes that is. I must confess we were into all the beach parties lol
We went to Coco Bongos in Cancun last year for the first time. It was a brilliant show/ nightclub, would recommend it to anyone young or old.
