Do remember having a great holiday though and there's plenty to see in the surrounding area if you drive. It did have an outdoor pool, which was great (surprisingly good british weather) but i'd imagine they've got an indoor funpool now as that seems to be the norm at these sort of places.
Hope you get a more up to date report!!
my in-laws went to this site last yr.They said it was very big and very busy with a lot of tourers but they went in august!
They enjoyed the surrounding area and said there was plenty to do!!
Kids are 4,5,8, and 13 and all really enjoyed it.
All did kids club and we went swimming every day. Me and 13 year old even did aerobics 3 times!
Non-smoking bar was great for the non-smokers and the kids loved the entertainment.
Food in restaurant was good (breakfast is best value) and on-site shop quite good too, although we went to tesco in nearby Bexhill for supplies.
Children's park was great for the 3 younger ones, and the soft palay area at the Saxon Bar was great for the 2 younger ones.
last year we did a different operator for 1/2 term and would not use them again, but found Haven to be clean, family orientated and a lot of fun.
Lots to do in Sussex too for days out.
who was the different operator mrsgaz,if you don't mind saying??!!
It was not to a Haven Resort. We went John Fowler Holidays to Devon - cost more and afraid was really disappointed in quality and facilities. Will always go Haven now.
i'd looked at john fowler myself cos they've got a site near st ives but there was something about them i just didn't like when i got the brochure....
i've stayed in haven a couple of times and sometimes it's a mixed bag!
parkdean's ok i've found.will use them again!
i've been looking at quay west at newquay wales for next year- that's a haven site!you ever been there?
luv marshyx
The sister-in-law went to Cleethorpes last year with Haven and loved it, and they also do Haven France. It was them who recommended we try them after last year's disaster (should have known when only food at JF was chip shop and the security guard was smoking in the no-smoking section).
Loved Coombe Haven and we were in a theme caravan which the kids thought was great - especially as right by the play park and the squirrels
Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes, is a great place to go. But if you're not into Haven Holidays then when not try the Beachcomber next door?
I went to Combe Haven last summer...and going again in 5 weeks (i can't wait...im so excited!!!). I have been on a number of holidays...with family (im 18) This time will be my 4th time at Combe Haven! I LOVE it so much! Last year was probably the best holiday i have ever been on! everything about it make he happy...being with teh family makes you feel so happy and it sounds stupid but the atmosphere is really positive and happy! Yeh you get the occational chav... but they are everywhere nowerdays!! Sometimes you have to wait a bit or ignore a tiny bit of shabbyness but you can forgive it because of what it is...its simple but so so so amazing!! Well thats what i feel anyway!! People complain about it on websites like expedia or traveladvisor but peopel go expecting too much...you have to take it for what it is...its a caravan in the UK...if you are realistic you will be satisfied!! Hope you have a brilliant time!!!
