Hi guys, um happy to say we are all in rhodes having a good holiday !
Just after some advice, when we arrived last Wednesday we were put in a room with a double bed and a camp bed, on Sunday we were moved to a room with a double bed and a single bed ( which us what we had payed for!) with the rep sorting out our room change.
The rep has offered me £78 gbp compensation for the
Nights we spent in the wrong room. Then he wants me to sign to say I'm happy to accept the compensation, we will get the money here in the resort. I'm a bit wary of accepting this compensation without someone saying they're not ripping me off as they seem so keen to settle with me !!
So what do you guys think ?
I'd appreciate a rapid response if possible as I'm paying to use the hotels wifi and the rep will be here tonight. We booked with direct holidays.
Karen.
You may be better posting this in the Holiday Complaints section at the top of the index board, for a better response.
If it is - accept it and sign.
If it isn't - don't accept and sign but you will find yourself pursuing the matter when you're back in the UK with perhaps not the same outcome or a better outcome but having to fight for it.

Hello, I just thought posting it here might get a quick response, rep is here in reception now but hast approached me yet. I just want to know what to do ! Maybe a mod will move the post x
Ask yourself this.
Whilst it is a bit of a pain has it really stopped you enjoying your holiday? Not really as you say you are having a good one. At least the rep is making an offer as the more usual complaint is they don't want to know.
There is no denying that if you say no then you will be into the long hard slog when you get back trying to recover some money with no absolute guarantee you will get anything.
If you do say no then make sure you complete an In Resort complaint form with the rep. Do one anyway even if you accept and complain when you get back - yes the rep did compensate you but really not the sort of thing you expect from such a big company. Never know they might give you some more.
Take the money and try it on is my view. £78.00 now is better than waiting six months to getthe same. And a lot less hassle.
Now go and enjoy spending it.

Unless you can prove that the difference in price for the two rooms would exceed this then I don't think it's a rip off. Knowing how little the big TOs often pay the hotels for rooms in the first place then I think that this probably does sound like a pretty fair settlement and if it was me, I would just accept it and be done with it.

It does not sound as though this has ruined your holiday, an inconvenience of course - I personally would accept the payment it 'may' be the best that you will get.
