Very excited about going with wife and kids [both primary school age] to Concorde Resort and Spa at Lara Beach over half term
Never been to this part of the Turkey [been to Istanbul/Pammukale before] and never been to a 5* AI before either!
Have booked transfers directly with Hotel for pickup and dropover [early morning flights!]
1) Any generic tips and trips for this hotel: must does and must nots?
2) How safe is the kids club? I don't plan to "abandon" my kids but do they need us watching over them all the time they are at the kids club or can they be safely left while we lounge by pool for couple hours etc?
3) what things for us to do as a family at the hotel - I know of 10pin bowling but what else esp in evenings?
4) what water sports are available on the beach and which are free?
5) is shopping nearby all Malls or are there bazaars/small shops too?
6) Antalya - easy to get Dolmus to reach the town? How easy to find excursions eg boat trips?

All help is gratefully received so this much-anticipated trip can be a good as possible.

Hi we went in june and loved this hotel will be going back next year :)
1) Any generic tips and trips for this hotel: must does and must nots?

Nothing really they bend over backwards for you. One tip dont let the Russians push in at food time lol :)You have to book by 10am for the Al cart the steak house is hard to get in books up fast so book very early.

2) How safe is the kids club? I don't plan to "abandon" my kids but do they need us watching over them all the time they are at the kids club or can they be safely left while we lounge by pool for couple hours etc?

Had nothing to do with the kids club but saw that the area was fenced off and there was sun loungers in the kids area for adults.

3) what things for us to do as a family at the hotel - I know of 10pin bowling but what else esp in evenings?

We did book for the bowling but there was a mixup and we didnt get to bowl they should of rung our room but never did. Alot of kids took over so make sure you book.
4) what water sports are available on the beach and which are free?

There is a little area on the beach with all water sports but you have to pay for everything, hubby did some had a really good time :)
5) is shopping nearby all Malls or are there bazaars/small shops too?

Yes there is bazaars across the road you get asked to look at everything if you say no they leave you alone :) shop and chemist also across road to the right.

6) Antalya - easy to get Dolmus to reach the town? How easy to find excursions eg boat trips?

Bus stop right outside hotel and free bus into Antalya from hotel. Not that many excursions for us we like safaris however think there is boat trip if not the water sports man on the beach does one.

If there is anything else just PM me you will have a good time.

We have just booked to go to the Concorde resort at Lara Beach, i was wondering if anyone has been to give me some feedback from anyone that has been please, we went to Titanic this year and loved it, the year before we went to Limak lara, i was just wondering how the hotels compared to the Concorde, all the waiters said the concorde was far superior to the Titanic, also does anyone know if the concorde provide beach towels.

thanks, will be glad of any comments please.

Welcome to the forums Penny :cheers

We have some reviews of this accommodation here with also a link to the hotel's website if you haven't already seen them http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/reviews/turkey/antalya-region/antalya/concorde-resort-and-spa-hotel/

Hope this helps until someone who has stayed here replies.

Hi Penny, we have been to both the Concorde and the Titanic, they are both very similar in a lot of respects. Rooms are of a similar high standard, but at the Concorde, robes and slippers are provided.
The food is the same high standard, and room service (limited hours) is available.
The dress code is enforced more at the Concorde. There are kids at the Concorde, but nowhere near as many as at the Titanic, as there are less kids facilities.
The spa facilities are better at the Concorde, the entertainment is about the same. Beach towels are provided. Anything else you need to know, just ask.

Thanks very much for filling me in on the details, what size are the rooms at the concorde as we have a twin room and there is 3 of us, do you have any idea?

I loved the Titanic in June, but thought we would have a change and the Concorde seems to offer more choice in al a carte restaurants, even if we have to pay extra, its nice to have the choice. thanks again and happy new year to you

Hi,

May be a really stupid thing to ask but my sister was on the Concorde R & Spa official site and she said that it mentions there are no electrical sockets in the rooms apart from the one in the bathroom that can only be used for a shaver and nothing else for security reasons.. is this true? or has she picked it up wrong?

Thanks!

There were sockets in the rooms, but they don't like you using straighteners etc. They will leave a card saying not to use them - health and safety rules I believe. If you want to use them or a travel iron for instance, just make sure you put them away before the maids come into the rooms.

booked into concorde deluxe lara's beach in august my wife has been looking on the first choice web site and it say that the mini bar is payable locally i thought that the concorde deluxe was ultra AI
Reply
The mini bar certainly was free when we were there the year before last and I haven't heard any reports that it was any different this year. Try googling Concorde (but make sure it the Turkey one, and not Egypt) and see what the other sites say. It's a great hotel, you will LOVE it!!

can anyone one advise me if the wearing of trousers is compulsary in the concorde deluxe restaurants we are going in august and would prefer to wear shorts (dressy shorts not football shorts) as i have heard its quite warm at that time of year and dont usually take any trousers away with me thanks if anybody can help
:tongue

The dress code at the Concorde is quite strict (evenings only). Dress shorts with a smart shirt are allowed but definitely not the likes of football shorts. There are staff at the door checking as you go in. You will have a great time here - it's a great hotel.
