WARNING!!!
Ignore all the bad reports on this hotel. we had a party of 4 adults and 1 child age 7, and we all had a great holiday.
We arrived at about 10pm had missed evening meal but there was buns behind the bar available for anyone to have not the best salad buns but they were enough to see us through the night.
MEALS were buffet style and all having a good selection to choose from every day, yes the childrens section always had chips, pizza and pasta but they could eat anything else available my daughter always had a try of something from main buffet.
there were theme evenings Tunisian day, tex mex, meditteranean, gala night each having a selection of different meals to try, no excuse to go hungry.
the entertainment team work very hard to entertain the guests, pool and beach games during day, water aerobics, volleyball, water polo, arabic lessons, belly dancing lessons all good fun. evening entertainment has kids disco and then the entertainment team do a show very amateur i admit but watchable, they do a good river dance.
drinks are served all day at pool bar and all evening until midnight as the entertainment is outdoors, evenings were still hot so no need to go indoors, the bar in the foyer is a pay bar now it is high season.
coffee tea and cakes are served in the coffee bar handy if you miss breakfast and they have pizzas in there 3pm - 5pm .
the beach bar do a barbeque (high season)on afternoon which is payable 30% discount for all inclusive but it is very good i had chicken, chips, veg and salad served with crusty bread all for about £3.
the pirate ship is a must good fun and try to be on the first ship as it goes the furthest journey, we booked with the guy at the pool £15 each free for children picked us up at hotel and took us to marina for a great 3 hours fun you can swim in the sea and there is fish salad bread and drinks (not alchohol) supplied.
we were going to go to carthage land (theme park) for the rides but it was closed for maintanence but it looks like good fun for kids and cheap. about £6.
hotel shop is small, good selection of gifts and good value.
the pool is lovely we were still able to have a choice of sunbeds at about 9am, I must stress it was the english who were getting out about 7.30am on a morning to reserve beds not the germans they seem to go to the beach or the gardens to sunbathe.
you can get towels from the pool guy 1 dinar a day per family, mattresses are supplied free but we give a tip.
if you go here, you will have a good time i am sure, enjoy, we did.
Welcome back,
Sooooooooo pleased you enjoyed your holiday told you there was nothing to worry about. When we were there they only sold crepes at the pool bar, we went in May.
Would you go back to this hotel ???? We thought maybe we would go for a week next year, we had the same hotel in mind but can't find a travel agent that has this hotel in its books, we went with Thomson but they dont seem to be sending people to this hotel next year.
Again I'm pleased you have had a good holiday
Take care
Chrissy
yes i would go back to this hotel. i did not have any problems at all with anything there.
i do know that there had been some complaints from an english family about one of the reps and we had a new rep called Debby she was very nice and well informed about the area.
we were talking to a family on our first night there, and all they did was complain, and it was all about the food, (no bacon for breakfast) what could be worse than that some peaople find anything to moan about.
it would be a shame if thomson do not use that hotel again maybe it will be in the next edition of the brochure heres hoping
I have been on many all inclusive holidays and have yet to pay for food or drink.
My whole point in booking these types of holidays is so that I don't have to carry money with me everywhere I go.
Lee
the bar at the pool and the entertainment bar is free as are the sandwiches that they do on an evening.
all food in the restaurant is free and drinks
tea, coffee cakes on a morning and tea coffee and pizzas on an afternoon are free.
crepes are 80p and the barbecue is payable but very nice you do not need to carry money at all
hope this helps
Not that it bothers me, but my girlfriend has a thing about tan lines.
not that anyone sees them.
thanks in advance
slim
Dont know about the beach ( my daughter made friends with a girl the same age as her so they were always in the pool ) but you can sunbathe topless around the pool area.
Hope this helps have a great holiday
Bye
Chrissy
thanks for getting back to me about the money thing, it's just various things i have heard about having to pay to get certain drinks etc. have got me a bit worried that i am not taking enough money with me, but i suppose i will know better when i get there.
not too sure about naked people round the pool... don't mind it on the beach but not too sure about round the pool with kids there...
another question for the masses.... has anyone had a birthday out there? and where would you reconmend going for it restaurant wise?
lee
if you are into casinos and the like it is about 20mins walk from the hotel about £1 in taxi to the hotel sol azur and they have a casino and it is suppose to be a lovely restaurant have not been so can not comment on it. do be careful if you want to celebrat and drink alcohol in restaurants and cafes as a few of the smaller ones do not have a licence to sell alcohol they give you cans of non alcoholic lager.
in the hotel the all inclusive drinks are lager, red, rose and white wine boukka that is vodka made with figs it is a strange taste. and i think the only other 2 drinks available are brandy and a appertif there is enough to survive on for 2 weeks.
have a great time relax and enjoy
going in two weeks time, can anyone tell me:- are there ice lollies available for children & do you have to pay for them?
also, does the hotel provide bath towels.
cheers
Yes you can get ice lollies but you have to pay for them and yes you get bath towls provided in your room.
Hope you have a great time
Chrissy
still think this going to be the strangest All Inclusive hotel I have been to... paying for ice cream.....
i have to agree with lee though, it does seem like you have to pay for an awful lot. perhaps full board would have been a better description.
nethertheless we will see first hand in 10 days time
ciao for now
ICECREAM is free in the afternoon (15.00 h - 17.00 h).
For ICELOLLIES you have to pay.
Kind regards from the Netherlands,
Pittie
