Hi everyone, i have now received a full refund for my holiday that was booked for June 2006.
i booked at a shop and i have not received anything in writing but first choice head office confirmed that the hotel will not be ready for my holiday. Alough the shop i booked at is still saying they dont know anything about this, i had to give the shop, FC head office number and insist they talk to them, eventually the shop phoned and confirmed i had a full refund.
The lady i spoke to at FC said she was due to go to this hotel in august, and was moving herself so i dont think it will be ready in time, she also comfirmed it was due to planning permission not being granted and as of yet is still not resolved fully.
Talk to head office they are now it seems being straight with you.

When you say that you booked through a shop, was this a First Choice shop or somebody else?

So, First Choice strike again!!! The problems with this hotel mirror exactly the debacle with the new holiday village which was being built in Sarigerme in Turkey last year. Again and again FC absolutely assured customers that the hotel would be finished on time which it wasn't. However, by that time people had travelled and were truly disappointed at the state of the place. If anyone wants more info there are pages and pages relating to this on the Turkey discussion forum. It is absolutely awful, tho, that First Choice are getting away with this sort of marketing for a 2nd year in a row.

Kefalonia and Kos Aqua Beach Clubs have now also been delayed if this is any consolidation?

FC really should not be selling holidays that do not exist, they can not get away with it any longer.!

Having written to first choice to decline their offer of the Blue Bay Resort alternative, I am now pleased to say that I have been given all of my money back. Of course like others who've posted on this site, i'm now unable to find an alternitive with good flights & free child places!

I do not think that F.C. will ever get this project off the ground. The photos in their first brochure were false in that these photos were from the Acharavi Water Park, a totally different company,and well worth visiting. The proposed site is a long established wet land area with flooding problems. The beach there is 3rd grade at best, and it is a long walk into Acharavi. Instead of booking with unreliable companies why not do as my wife and I do and book with local Corfu travel agents and go independant. This way you get the holiday that you want and not the one you are allocated. Try Travel with friends or Corfu Castaway. You will find letters from them on this site. Dave.

This matter has now been referred to the European court to ensure that NOTHING will be built on this land.

I have had to eat 3 lemon sandwiches to stop me laughing. What a brilliant outcome. There I go again. Now will you people that want a great holiday go independant to Acharavi and really enjoy this beautiful village.
