Hi Brownbear,
As our pick up was at 4.30pm, We were charged 30 euros to continue all inclusive and use of our room which ended at 6 pm, (for our party of 2 adults 2 children) reception said this is a reduced price for guests that booked their holiday through a tour operator (we booked through thomas cook). Not sure of the prices otherwise.
We are travelling with Direct Holidays which is now part of the Thomas Cook group, so I assume we'll have a similar amount as yourself to pay (2 adults, 1 child and a baby), which is actually quite reasonable.
Thinking of taking my wife and two teenage kids here. Not sure if the kids will share the sofabed in the living room - does anybody know if there is enough space in the living room for a single blow-up bed when the sofabed is open ?
TIA
Just got back last night, this hotel is fantastic. The sofabed in living room is easily as big as any double bed. There probably is enough space for single blow up bed between sofabed and patio doors.
Hi brownbear ... if you haven't already done so, perhaps you could provide some feedback on our
Brownbear how did you get on, any comments regarding this place?
We are planning on having our main holiday there next August as our recent one week visit was to check out another potentially fantastic all inclusive hotel in tenerife. We were not disappointed!!
My only other concern is regarding the tour companies pricing for next summer. I started a topic regarding next years pricing on the tenerife forum and was then directed to another existing topic by the HT Mod. Basically, if the tour operators haven't got their early pricing system wrong then they stand to lose a lot of customers. Looking at most comments, this does not just affect the eurozone but worldwide!! If you would like any more answers, please feel free to ask.
We have two girls aged 3 and 12 so we need some activities for both the age group.
What blocks would you recommend for a good view? maybe of the pool and La Gomera together!
Anyway thanks.
Hi Mark, blocks C,D,K,L and M will all give you views of pools and La Gomera. The rest of hotel will all give you sea views. We requested these blocks before travel but were stuck in block E which was still fine.
Visting this hotel in July - What is the situation for evening meals do you have to wear long pants or can you wear 3/4 lenghts.
We got backfrom this hotel on Tuesday - to be honest we saw long trousers, three-quartersand even shorts at dinner. I don't think they're enforcing the rule strictly. In saying this, no gentlemen ever wore sleeveless shirts, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed. Luckily for us we felt like we had the hotel to ourselves,as there must have only been a couple of hundred people in for the majority of our stay. The hotel staff mentioned that tomorrow (Friday) they were taking in another 800 people, and the occupancy was ramping up to the 2000 maximum as August approached, so you might do ok in July.
The sun terraces are huge anyway, so you'll be able to find a nice quiet spot away from it if it gets busy..........
Enjoy
Mark and Pam
Thanks
Could anybody recommend a block to request ?
We were in Block M, overlooking the Toddler and baby pools next to the waterslide. Great views out to sea and La Gomera, although there's the obligatory crane in view, which I guess is normal for Tenerife!! Only slight downside to our location was that if we chose to go back to our room earlier, say 4:30pm, it was still quite noisy from the little kids (bless 'em!!), even with the patio doors closed.
Other than that, not a bad block to be in. I think brownbear mentions Blocks C, D, K and L in a previous post, but if you go to the hotels website there's a map of the complex, and a quick look on Google Earth (even though GE only shows the foundations for the hotel) gives you an idea of the orientation.

We love the BP and are always interested in hearing if any compare (We haven't found one yet, though!)
Many thanks.
This is one of them Suzie
Please can you tell me why, Mark? Maybe the position is better? Or maybe the beach?
Although the CLG is currently quiet out of peak periods I can imagine it becoming very popular once the good word spreads, as its only been open since august 2008 and also people realise the Los Gigantes area is not on the cloudy north facing coast of Tenerife. It's actually on the west coast and has the same climate as the south!! That is also what might put people off coming here, its also another half hour past the BP. As we love both hotels we are going to book BP for next Easter or may half term and visit CLG next August. Please feel free to ask any more questions.
You never know, we might see you there!
Another thing worth noting is that we were told that the Puerto Santiago area gets more sunshine in a year than anywhere else in Tenerife.........whether that's true or not, don't know. All I can say is that the weather we experienced between 9th and 23rd June was some of the best we've had in 12 visits to 'Rife in the last 9 years.......
