Hi there,
My boyfriend and I have put a deposit down on a week in CT from the 31st August! Since placing the deposit we have been having a few concerns about the area.
Firstly has anybody been this time of year and how did they find the weather? We have heard varied reports including complaints of wind and clouds and this concerns us as it is our only sun holiday of the year and we are hoping for great weather!
We visited Corralejo in Feurtaventura the same time last year and the weather was great!
Also what is the area like? We are staying in Playa Bastian but we are expecting to be in the main CT most nights. Are there a good selection of restaurants? We really enjoyed Corralejo's strip at night and being able to stroll through looking into shops and restaurants!
Italian restaurants are our favourite so if anybody has any reccomendations that would be great!!
Any other info. would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!
I've been twice; March and September. Weather wise, you shouldn't have a problem with averages of 26C through the day, 22C at night with virtually no rain. The sea temperature averages 20C. Of course this does vary and you could be unlucky, but you'll get a tan! There's the constant breeze from the east, but that's not nomally a problem, maybe just an odd day when it's stronger than normal and you get sand blasted on the beach. There's a selection of bars and restaurants around the main sea front area and others within a short distance of the sea front, but nightlife is quite low key.

As daz as said the weather really is not a problem although a lot of people seem to think it can be. i have been the last few years in august and its been really nice 30+ everyday and ive been burnt alot so a bit of a breeze can make it feel just that bit more comfortable.
As for restaurants theres loads and you shouldn't be dissapointed check out el patio, casa blanca, mastil (my favourites) all these are right by the main square and el patio right in the middle of the square. there is also a market friday evenings in the square which is worth a look. There is also plenty of shops around for a look in but if you like shops maybe puerto del carmen is worth a visit 2 euro on the bus or about 25 euro each way in a taxi.
Hope this helps
Andy
Thanks a mill that does really help! I probably am worrying over nothing but unless Ireland gets the weather this summer Costa Teguise is our last hope for sun!!
Friends of ours have just come back from CT (9th June 09) Had excellent weather, plenty of choices for eating out. Very family-friendly resort, no noisy groups of teens. Had a cloudy day but still managed to get sunburn that day! He's the fussiest person on the planet but has been to CT about 3 times - so it cant be that bad! We're going ourselves in July (4 weeks and counting!)
i have been about 5 times in as many years and it has never rained once in august while i have been there and even when its cloudy or windy you still easily burn in lanzarote.
We went to Costa Teguise at the beginning of August in 2005 and it was scorchio!!! Any early morning clouds soon burnt off, the afternoons were roasting and the evenings were pleasant. If there is a breeze, you will be glad of it! Make sure you head down to the Los Charcos beach and watch the kitesurfers!
we have been to Lanzarote the middle of september twice and the weather has been red hot,We stayed in Puerto del carmen but had a few trips to CT and no difference in the heat just a slight breeze which is nice , on our second visit to Lanzarote my other half suffered with sunstroke because of the heat so don't be fooled by the winds in CT.
I'm sure the weather for you's will be lovely so enjoy your hols!
