Easyjet have been flying
from luton to Istanbul for a few years now.
The buy out as far as I can see will not do anything for travellers to the tourist resorts in Turkey

I have just come back with GB from Dalaman and have used them twice. If Easyjet pick up the Dalaman route, I am not sure this is set in stone after reading on the BA website, I am sure it will not be the same service as GB. Couldn't fault it.
Maybe BA will pick up this route if Easyjet doesn't.

im just waiting for an email from ba i too flew back with gb airways always a good service but i was talking to staff on our flight back on the 25th and they also said easyjet was taking the route but it will be a total budjet flight who needs all the sevice its only 31/2 to 4 hours flight
I don't need or expect BA services if I have paid Easyjet prices, but I've already paid for flights next May which included food, drink and 23kgs luggage allowance at the time of booking. Next year's flights to Dalaman still seem to be available on the BA website.
if you read there newsletter all flights after the 29th of march 2008 will be contacted by easy jet or given a full refund
this is why i made this post as alot of people have done the same so you know in advance

i think it's good news.... easyjet will hopefullykeep the prices down. The more regular flights the better. When jo2beans started her petition there were a few high priced carriers.... now look.
I think this is brilliant news. I often fly with Easyjet. They have clean planes, no fuss and good prices. I hope their service to Dalaman will be as good.
If indeed Easyjet do take over this route From Gatwick to Dalaman anyone wishing to use this service is going to have to book it very very early to Guarntee seats as it will be full on Departure Particularly from May to October, This may well be good for Travellers and Easyjet's fund's also, Should this happen Im sure once Easyjet find out just how Profitable this route can be They will also try for slots from Manchester or Birmingham to Dalaman here's hoping.
Personally I have only flown GB airways for the last 2 years - excellent no faults or complaints - Easyjet i feel now have uped there prices and i could always fly GB cheaper than Easyjet - i hope if they take over the routes that the standard will not fall and the prices are kept low. And the rush for the gate door to get the best seats is controlled!!!!
easy jet is easy jet they have there a, b ,c system of checking in it has always worked ok for me in the past
there is know way easy jet would even try to match ba as this is not what they are about

I have found no faults with Easyjet at all, And have flyed with them on many many occasions both Internal flights and European ones infact I havent had a delay with them at all, Yes they have no onboard meals, But do provide ample snacks onboard, Not possible to beat Easyjet prices as long as you book 3 months in advance that is, I have flown with them to Istanbull also booking 3 months in advance costing only £124.00 return for two adults, that's £62 each, Even aegeanflights cant beat that price.
that is so true any thing for a really cheap book in advance service and the flight is only three and a half hours approx so who needs a meal the problem will be on the return
but most restaurants do an airport picnic now anyway

To add to Mavericks last post, you will find that Hotels will also provide you with an Airport Picnic/Pack Up. We stayed at Hotel Nur in Kalkan in September and this facility was available to its guests.
